It feels like every year the "experts" just pick the same three names before the season is even halfway done. I miss the days when the underdog could actually surprise everyone at the ceremony. Do you guys think the current voting trends are actually merit-based, or just hype-driven?

Personal loans for contract employees

I checked in with Wells Fargo about getting a loan for myself since I'm on a temporary contract.
Basically, they told me I could take out a loan as long as I can pay it off before my contract ends—which makes sense. My paycheck has to go directly into my account, and I’d need to provide proof of income so they can figure out my monthly payments. They won't let you set a payment that eats up your entire salary, unfortunately (even though that was kind of my plan). I think I might have qualified for somewhere around $3,500, but in the end...
I decided to just save up and wait a bit. ☕

I’m 23, and I’m thinking about starting birth control.
One reason is that my periods have been brutal lately, and the other is pretty simple: I’m a total wreck when it comes to pregnancy anxiety. 😁 😁
I’ve been weighing this for a year now. Honestly, hearing those horror stories about girls dying from them gave me a bit of a scare.
I take my health seriously. If my OB-GYN doesn't suggest specific tests, I’ll definitely ask for them myself—I know doctors sometimes skip that step, and I don't want to take chances. I'd also insist on an annual blood panel. 😁 😁
I’m also sweating the side effects I’ve read about: breakouts, mood swings, weight gain. It would be a real shame because I finally got all of that under control. 😁
Is there actually anything to worry about here? 🙂
