Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
Joshua Kern64 said:From what I gather, it’s mostly just pretty rough on the stomach, which is why you should always take it with milk and definitely never on an empty stomach. There are actually certain groups of patients who have to take it constantly—like people dealing with rheumatoid issues, for instance—so it probably wouldn't be banned if it were truly that dangerous. Let's be real though, any medication, especially painkillers, puts a massive strain on your liver and kidneys, and if someone already has issues there or is extra sensitive, they really have to watch themselves. As for me, I only deal with pain once a month, so I figure taking two pills a month isn't going to do much damage... at least, that's the hope 😉

Honestly, I'm more worried that a night out on Saturday is way harder on those organs—alcohol basically nukes your liver cells, and even your brain cells, just slowly chipping away at them bit by bit...
I guess we just have to get pregnant ASAP. Pregnancy might sort out potential PCOS issues and make the uterus more elastic... I seriously can't wait 😉

Hmm, well, it really comes down to the individual, I guess. For example, my mom ended up getting menstrual migraines from those intense pains after giving birth, and now there are times when she literally can't even stand up for three days because the pain is so bad. We end up taking her in to get an injection, and then once she's home, she spends days vomiting and trying to recover... she needs total darkness and trust me, we're practically walking on eggshells when she's in that state.

Anyway, my OB-GYN told me that giving birth can fix things, though it doesn't always happen, so... 🤔

Everyone keeps lecturing me about how much it wrecks your kidneys and liver, though.😢

So yeah, that's exactly why I'm heading back to my gynecologist to see if she can prescribe something different, even though my dream is just to live without taking anything at all, but when the pain gets this unbearable, you don't really have a choice... plus, I'm not always in a position where I can just curl up at home and take a sick day on that first day of my cycle.

Restlesscobra132, then you know exactly what I’m talking about... I’ve got that same anxiety hanging over me right now, and honestly, I probably just need to give it a few months to chill out and realize that this isn't some monthly recurring nightmare. Usually, Voltaren absolutely wrecks my stomach and makes me nauseous, so I just stick to Ketoral, though even then I only reach for it when I feel like the pain is actually about to get dangerous.

Look, I’m just here to tell you all that you aren't alone in dealing with these brutal pains... back when I was in high school, my cramps were absolutely horrific, and every single month they had to rush me to the ER to get an IV drip just to help me relax and settle down, or sometimes they'd give me an injection that would basically knock me out cold...

Eventually, I switched to a better gynecologist who suggested Ketoral tablets, which actually helped things stay relatively under control, but then during my eighth month, the pain got so intense that even the Ketoral wouldn't touch it. They ended up rushing me back to the emergency room again, and the doctor there actually thought I might be having some kind of miscarriage—thank God everything turned out fine—but now I’m honestly terrified of it happening all over again because, let's be real, you guys know exactly how scary that feeling is.
