Larry Lewis said:Fine then—I'm just some imaginary figure to you, so go ahead and find yourself a real person😍
have you ever tried taking Xanax?

Not really. It's been quite a while... I'm strictly on beta-blockers and antidepressants right now, though they haven't quite kicked in yet. Great.😠

Larry Lewis said:And then you wonder why life feels like such a struggle... honestly, just go find yourself a boyfriend—or two, if that's your speed😁

Well, I'm not even moving unless there are at least two.😁 xD ...you'll be my first, though I still need to find one.😁

There are so many threads here I’m not even sure where to drop this... anyway, these ads over the last few days have been hitting me weirdly during the day. Everything just feels flat. It’s awful. I have zero motivation... can’t even bring myself to laugh, which is pretty rare for me lately. On top of that, the right side of my head has started aching. It’s been going on for a couple of days now—just the right side. It feels like my head is split in two. Just a strange, nagging pain... uhhh

And there are plenty of them... constantly messing with your head.😁
I have a question... might sound silly, but I figured I’d ask here before my actual appointment with the gynecologist. When do birth control pills actually start working? Like, if I take one, does that mean I'm protected immediately, or is there a specific window of time I need to wait for?

Happy New Year, everyone. Here’s hoping this year treats you better than the last one and stays kind to your health. 🙂 Now, go grab a drink, relax, and stop worrying about things you can't control. 😁

He’s been wrestling with Time to Bi for way too long now. Honestly, you have to wonder what he's thinking... four years is an eternity. I’ve been dealing with my own issues for three months and I’m already at my breaking point. Look, I don't suffer from social phobia, but if I were in his shoes, I’d be looking into other methods by now.

Lately, I haven't been waking up in the middle of the night... I’ve just been sleeping straight through. It feels good. Even if I do happen to wake up feeling a bit restless, I drift back off pretty quickly. At least there's some progress here.

fadedbear92 said:Oh, come on—I went through a full cardiac workup the second my symptoms started, and the doctor told me if things didn't improve, we'd try beta-blockers. After more testing—specifically checking my thyroid—it turned out to be anxiety and depression. But you definitely need to get checked out. If I remember correctly, they also mentioned I have an excitable heart!

I honestly don't know, but I've been taking them for 20 days now... strictly on my cardiologist's recommendation for tachycardia triggered by anxiety and panic attacks.

fadedbear92 said:Wait, which betas are we talking about now?🤷

I already mentioned I take those too... beta blockers, Bisoprolol... my cardiologist prescribed them after I was hospitalized recently...

Roger Rodriguez said:I have to ask, just so I can understand—could you list exactly what medications you're currently taking?
Wait, why are you worried about combining Helix with an antidepressant? Don't you want the AD to actually start working? There's a specific reason doctors prescribe Helix alongside an AD at the beginning of treatment. Surely they aren't just throwing random pills at you without a plan!

It’s like this... I was prescribed three specific things: Helix, Fevarin, and Samuel... I feel like I've typed this out five hundred times on this forum already, everyone knows my list.😁 ...but I only take Samuel and Helix as needed. I stay consistent with the Fevarin. I haven't touched the Samuel and I don't plan to since my sleep is fine right now. As for the Helix, I stopped taking it because the crises aren't happening anymore. So, it's just the beta blockers and the antidepressant for me.

Alex Barnes8 said:I'm on Lamictal, an antiepileptic, and I've been told the same thing. It's tough, though, because I love my coffee and soda.😢
Anyway, I wanted to ask about a different combination.
I'm dealing with terrible insomnia. Based on what you all have experienced, what are the best sleep aids? I mean, looking for effectiveness with minimal side effects. And most importantly, which ones are safest to mix with other medications?
In case it helps, the main ingredient in my Lamictal is lamotrigine. Aside from epilepsy, it's used as a mood stabilizer for bipolar disorder...
Please don't tell me to just ask my doctor, because I already tried, and she pushed Samuel on me. I've read such bad things about Samuel that I'm hesitant to try it. Though, maybe it isn't actually that bad.🤷
This matters to me because my therapist insisted that getting enough sleep is my top priority right now.
If anyone could share their own experiences, I'd appreciate it.🙂

My doctor pushed Samuel on me too, but I’m not taking it... as if that’s not enough on top of the thousand other pills they've prescribed... half of which I don't even take. Now I'm nervous about occasionally mixing Helix with my antidepressants... so I don't even take the Helix (hahaha). I'm extremely consistent with the antidepressants, but they still haven't really kicked in yet... I feel a slight shift, but nothing significant...

Roger Rodriguez said:I haven't heard anything about Adderall and caffeine either, though I have looked into mixing caffeine with benzos. My doctor mentioned it isn't exactly the best combination, right?

I've actually heard the opposite... nowhere does it say you can't take caffeine with benzos, but the instructions for Adderall definitely mention it.😉

Excuse me? That's the first time I've ever heard that...

Yeah, it's true. It should be right there in the warning label on the antidepressant packaging. Mine explicitly mentions that drinking too much tea, coffee, or anything else loaded with caffeine—like Coke—can make things worse. You can end up with shaky hands, nausea, heart palpitations, restlessness, and insomnia. Most of those symptoms tend to clear up if you just cut back on the caffeine. My therapist told me straight up to stop drinking caffeine altogether. I think you could probably handle small amounts occasionally, but I'm way too much of a worrier to deal with it daily. I don't even really drink coffee, but I gave up soda entirely. Maybe one glass a month, and that's about it.

Larry Lewis said:🙂A single square of chocolate... honestly, you are such a neurotic mess. haha

As for me, I drink coffee by the gallon—it's actually pathetic how much I consume. From black drip to instant to lattes, you name it. But hey, when your stomach is constantly acting up, it’s pretty much the only thing that makes life tolerable.

haha yeah, I know😁 but do you drink caffeine while on AD? My psychiatrist told me to cut it out while taking AD... and it's actually listed in the pill's instructions too...

Alcohol isn't even my main issue, though I'll admit a cold beer hits the spot once in a while. But when I'm overdoing it on pills to deal with the drinking, and pairing that with ADHD meds... that's a different story. Honestly, the hardest part is giving up Coke because of the caffeine; apparently, it just amplifies the depressive effects when you mix it with stimulants. It’s a mess. The other day, I accidentally ate a piece of cappuccino-flavored chocolate and immediately spiraled, convinced I was going to feel terrible. Luckily, it wasn't 😁

Managed to get through the day without a single anti-anxiety pill 😁 Good for me, I guess. haha...
