Art appraisals/valuations? in Classifieds ·
Hey everyone!

I’m really hoping someone here can help me out. I was given these photos as a gift, but I have absolutely no clue who the artist is...

Any ideas at all?

Thanks in advance 🙂

I’ve heard through the grapevine that wedding dresses are way cheaper if you head out toward the Midwest or places like Indianapolis... though honestly, I don't have a specific shop in mind. If you haven't already, take a look at this link:

Yeah, tell me about it. Prices around here are just getting ridiculous lately... it feels like everything gets more expensive every single year. So now I’ve got two stellar options: grab a cheap burger or spend all day making homemade chili from scratch. Just great!
And we totally missed the boat on asking about the limits, didn't we? Typical.

Well, whatever. It's a little late for me to do anything about it now 🙂 but I guess things will probably work out in the end, one way or another.😉

Paul Taylor4 said:Has anyone here actually hosted wedding guests at the Central Hotel in Orlando, or maybe just heard some gossip about them?

I was there for a wedding once and honestly, I didn't have any complaints... plus, it seems pretty budget-friendly. Though, I guess it really depends on your guest list. If you're looking at a massive blowout, maybe not, but for a smaller, more intimate crowd? It’s basically perfect.

Robert Nelson8 said:Have you thought about wearing a flower in your hair instead? That would be so romantic.🙂 I'm actually feeling a little regretful now that I didn't go with that look myself...

I mean, yeah, I have... and honestly, it's still on the table. I haven't ruled it out. But first, I need to actually find some breathing room to hit up those shops the girls mentioned. Once I've done my rounds, then I'll make a call.🙂

I agree, $24 per head for a crowd of over 250 at Green Valley... just for this year. Honestly, looking at everything else now... everyone raves about Green Valley, but let’s be real, they aren't exactly the budget option. Plus, I really hope that rumor about us having to roll our own cabbage rolls is just talk, because we were fully planning on having them provided... who on earth has the time to hand-roll 600 individual rolls? 😲

We sorted out the decorations in the meantime... so that's one less headache.

I don't know, I just hope everything turns out okay... all the guests seem to have nothing but good things to say about Green Valley, and the owner seems like a decent enough guy..
except for the fact that his prices seem to creep up every single year 😁

Angela Davis74 said:There are plenty of treasures to find in thrift stores... everything from jewelry to hair accessories. I recently stopped buying Swarovski; it felt too sentimental, and I'm just not that type of person. However, you can find incredible pieces here for next to nothing.🙂I found them while browsing through Chicago. I'm not sure if those little shops are still around elsewhere, but I assume they are.🙂🙂

Yeah, I'm from St. Louis myself. I swung by Fancy and they definitely have some lovely items...

But what I'm actually hunting for is a hair clip or maybe a comb... something with a bit of a romantic vibe. I couldn't quite find that specific style there. 😢

I’ve already booked someone to do my wedding dress alterations, and my regular stylist is handling the hair... but I’m starting to realize she might not actually know a decent seamstress in this area. 🤷

So, looks like I’ll be playing tourist in local salons instead. Anyone have any solid leads? I really don't have the luxury of wandering around aimlessly looking for perfection. 🙄

Ugh, guys, my wedding is approaching at lightning speed... it's happening in about a month, 😲
and I’m still stuck in this total limbo regarding my hair. I need some kind of headpiece or accessory, but honestly? I have zero clue where to even start looking or how to navigate this whole thing. Does anyone actually know anything about this?

I was thinking maybe I could swing by some bridal boutiques to ask, but I'm not sure if they even carry those kinds of things, or if I can even rent or buy something there if I don't end up getting the actual dress from them.

Help a girl out! 😵😵

Thanks so much, ladies! 😁

Hey everyone, quick question—does anyone know where I can pick up some decent, budget-friendly candles around Indianapolis? I’m not looking for those little floating ones either; I need the thicker, standard pillar types... kind of like these:

Thanks!

I mean, honestly? Probably not... but look, once a stylist gets their hands on you and tells you that you’re going to look like James Bond at a black-tie wedding... I bet your man would cough up $1667 😁
just to see it. 😉
Those pros really know their stuff.

So, this guy tells us a full setup—we're talking the suit, the socks, the shoes, the cuffs, the vest, all that jazz—is gonna run us about $1667... meanwhile, just the damn suit itself is sitting at like 3, 3.5 grand
.

I’m right there with you... I honestly can't stand sitting through wedding videos anymore. Even though they've actually gotten shorter lately—like an hour or ninety minutes instead of those marathon four-hour slogs from back in the day! 😲

Photos are just better... especially if someone actually puts in the effort to curate them into a nice little album. 🙂

I’ve heard people raving about how great a digital zoom can be, but honestly, we ended up just hiring a local photographer and videographer out in Indianapolis instead..

Our guy is killing it with the video footage, but when it comes to the actual stills? I’m still on the fence. It’s kind of weird because there was this other person involved that we never actually met. The photos we've seen so far aren't bad, they're just... fine. Nothing to write home about, really.

Is the name Blitz? Anyone ever heard of them?😉

Hey guys, I need some help here... which photographers did you all end up booking for your weddings?
It’s driving me crazy because I can't find a single thing online about my own guy...

I ended up filling my bin too... though I have to admit, I actually managed to track down a flower shop 😁

Plus, this guy from Savannah was super helpful and walked me through everything we needed to do... so, yeah... I guess our trip wasn't a total waste of gas. Still, it kind of sucks that the fair was such a tiny little thing.

So, I finally tried those cookies from that lady over in Ivankov, and man, they are incredible... though they’re pretty massive. You only get about 30 pieces in a pound, and she’s got like 25 different kinds to choose from.
But seriously, the smell? Divine. And they’re just so soft and delicious—pure bliss. We ended up going with her selection.
Anyway, they go for $1.80 a piece.

I also sampled some treats at the Buccell bakery down in South NYC. They weren't bad either, honestly. It's actually kind of practical since she makes 13 varieties with about 5 pieces per type, so you end up getting over 60 pieces in a pound. A pound there is $23.

I guess it just comes down to what you're looking for, really.

Morgan Stewart50 said:Honestly, I have to admit that I walked away feeling quite disappointed after visiting the wedding expo in Indianapolis. The absolute highlight of my day—the one thing that truly brightened my spirits—was that singing competition they held for the couples! They were all such charming, lovely people, weren't they? But as for the expo itself, I feel it was somewhat doomed from the start, primarily because they decided to mash together wedding planning with baby gear and children's products... It felt so disjointed! On top of that, there were so few vendors to browse through; the whole affair just seemed rather lackluster and underwhelming to me...😢

Yeah, tell me about it. I’m disappointed too... there were literally three booths! And two of them were just wedding dresses 😁
I have no clue why they organized it like that... I was actually hoping to browse some jewelry and maybe snag a discount... what a complete waste of time 😠😕

Hey,
has anyone ever tried those cookies from Buffalo? There’s this bakery over in Indianapolis, down in the South, and I was just wondering if anyone here actually has any experience with them.

Thanks,
