Does anyone else run just to clear their head? in Hobbies & Leisure ·
I’ve noticed lately that all the marketing for running gear seems to focus so much on the "grind"—the sweat, the PB attempts, the intense high-performance stats. It's always about pushing harder or being faster.

But for me, the whole reason I lace up my shoes is the exact opposite. It’s my escape. There are days when I don't care if I'm slow or if my pace is terrible; I just need to get out of the house, find a quiet trail, and let my brain reset. It’s more of a mental ritual than an athletic one. When I'm out there, the world feels a bit quieter, and I can actually process things without being bombarded by notifications or noise.

I feel like we overcomplicate the "why" behind it. We treat it like a job or a competition, but sometimes it's just a way to feel human again.

Do you guys run for the physical challenge, or is it more of a mental reset for you?

I'm still rocking my old 1060 🤦

Still haven't managed to get this rig up and running...😠
I picked up these parts: 10400 / 2x8GB / 500GB NVMe / 650W
I just threw my old GPU in there since everything new is either out of stock or priced like a damn luxury car.
Baldur's Gate, you guys might actually dig that.
When World of Warcraft first dropped, it was an absolute phenomenon. Even the expansions later on... I remember it was the first time people in the US were actually lining up around the block just to get their hands on a single game.
Man, what a hell of a drug that was.

The 3060s are out there, but let's just skip over that for now. Right now, we're stuck waiting for the 2060 to actually be available, just like how we had to wait for the 1050ti.
Monitor buying guide (mega-thread) in Computer Peripherals ·
What kind of monitor would actually be good for heavy AAA titles like RDR2?
Every time I ask about gaming monitors, people just reflexively shout "144Hz" at me.
The thing is, I'm not grinding competitive shooters where frame rates are everything.

Look, word on the street is we might see the 3060 hitting shelves any day now, and right behind them, a fresh wave of 2060s. It looks like the 1050tis have already landed.
Same goes for Intel's 11th gen.

Might be worth holding out for another month. In the meantime, I'll grab a monitor, a power supply, a case, an SSD... and just pray the 2060 doesn't come with a ridiculous price tag.

If everything goes south and that 2060 ends up costing an absolute fortune, I’m done. I'll just pick up an Xbox Series S or a PS5 Digital for maybe $300-$400...

What do we think about this deal from General Motors?
The longer I sit on my hands, the more these prices climb. That build from Future with the 5500XT 8GB is already sold out...

GPU Buying Guide - (Read first post) in Desktops ·
Looks like they actually have some decent casing in stock. Quick question though—how does the warranty situation work? If something goes south, am I gonna have to ship this whole thing back to them?

My GPU is acting up here in the States👎 Which shop in the US would you guys recommend?
Schizophrenia - General Discussion in Psychology & Therapy ·
Can someone give me a quick breakdown of what a schizophrenic episode actually looks like? I have BPD, but when I was sitting there with my psychiatrist, I kept most of this to myself... He prescribed me some > and >. Honestly, antidepressants don't do squat for me—they don't help at all—whereas Risperdal, which is an antipsychotic, noticeably shuts down all those unreal fantasies running through my head. I don't deal with auditory or visual hallucinations, but my brain just won't shut up; it creates these intense trips where I’m everything I want to be, even though I'm not that person in the real world. When I'm in that headspace, it feels like I'm totally losing touch with reality. It gets so intense that I'll catch myself pacing around the house for no reason at all. Once one of these episodes finally breaks, I feel like a walking corpse and the depression just hits me like a ton of bricks.
