If you don't mind me asking, who is your orthodontist and how do you feel about their work? Also, maybe some info on the Democratic Party too? 🙏🏼
Thanks for letting me know. Honestly, I’m feeling a bit lost and don't even know where to start looking for help. :/
My question actually answers yours at the same time—I am incredibly unhappy with my current orthodontist and would give anything to switch to someone else. I’ve already tried visiting four different specialists, and what really gets to me is how every single one of them treats people who are already mid-treatment like we're some kind of burden they want to avoid.
I totally get that taking on an existing patient can be a headache, but it breaks my heart that because I'm such an unhappy patient, I feel stuck with a doctor I just can't stand.
It’s honestly been taking such a toll on my mental health; I end up crying every time I get home from an appointment because I leave with so many unanswered questions, and trying to communicate with her is just impossible no matter how hard I try. So, if by any miracle anyone knows an orthodontist in the US who isn't afraid to take on a dissatisfied patient, please let me know.
I couldn't seem to find anyone else talking about this specific issue in other threads, so my apologies to the admins if I'm repeating something already covered.
So, here’s my situation: about 15 years ago, I had my lower wisdom teeth pulled. For the last couple of years, I’ve been wearing braces, but my lower middle tooth is shifted to the left. My orthodontist actually thought she could nudge it back toward the right where it used to sit, but every time she tried to move it, my premolar would just pop out of alignment again. It turns out the bone between that premolar and my molar is just way too narrow.
Basically, there isn't a straightforward fix—she told me she can't fully correct my bite because that narrow bone prevents her from moving those lower teeth back to the right.
What I'm wondering is, is bone grafting an option for that specific area? Does having "narrow bone" actually mean there isn't enough physical bone density there to work with?
It honestly feels a little frustrating that with all the incredible medical technology we have in the US today, there isn't a clear solution for a "narrow bone" issue...
I’ve been stuck in these braces for two years now, and since I've already invested so much time into this, I really, really want to get my bite perfectly aligned at last.
Thanks!

As far as I know, Yaz and Qlaira are currently the ones with the lowest hormone levels.
Personally, my skin cleared up beautifully when I was on Yaz, and I barely dealt with any other side effects at all.
Thanks! 🙂When I was taking Diane, everything was covered by my insurance, but I'm guessing these newer ones might cost a bit more out of pocket even with coverage..? 🤔
👋
I’m thinking about getting back on birth control after taking a three-year break. I used to be on Yaz, but I definitely wouldn't go back to that because it felt way too strong and gave me a bunch of side effects.
Since my facial skin is super sensitive and I’ve finally managed to get everything under control, I really want to find the lowest-dose pill out there—something gentle that won't trigger any issues. Does anyone know which ones are the mildest?
I just want to feel totally prepared before I head into my appointment with the OB-GYN... 🥳
The main things I'm worried about are weight gain and breakouts, obviously. 🙄

Well, like I mentioned at the beginning of my post, I was actually out in Washington, D.C. 🙂
So, I finally gave in and called up Elizabeth Warren’s office over on Broadway after hearing so many glowing reviews from friends. Everyone was raving about how she’s basically the gold standard for anyone who gets a massive case of dental anxiety!
Since they’re a private practice but still take Medicare, I was wondering how the billing actually works out—like, what kind of prices should I be expecting for things like white fillings and stuff like that?
Thanks so much to all you kind souls for sharing that info! 🙂
Does anyone have a recommendation for a solid dentist in Washington, D.C.? I'm totally fine with either a private practice or someone who takes Medicare, honestly, as long as the prices don't break the bank. I heard some really lovely things about a dentist over on Fifth Avenue, but the name completely slipped my mind! It’s super important to me that they won't just jump straight to pulling a tooth if there's a complication, and I'd really prefer someone who is willing to be extra careful with local anesthesia. Most importantly, I really need someone patient and understanding because I get pretty nervous about dental work. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Would anyone be kind enough to share a link where I can grab a free version of Word? 🙂
I'm in a bit of a rush here...
ruggedeagle95 said:I could send you her info, but just a heads up, she's a private specialist and I've heard she's pretty pricey😉
Go ahead and send it over!🙂
ruggedeagle95 said:I honestly feel like someone like that doesn't even exist out there. I’m actually on the same hunt myself right now, though to be honest, I don't really care if they work for a private firm or a government agency—it makes no difference to me. 😉
Since I'm still a student, things are a little tight for me right now. Do you have any recommendations? I noticed someone from the forum sent you a DM, so I figured I'd reach out and see what you think! 😳
Does anyone have a recommendation for a great dentist here in Chicago who accepts Medicare? I’m really looking for someone who actually treats people like human beings and isn't stingy when it comes to using enough anesthesia or numbing injections. I definitely need a doctor who understands those patients who get majorly panicked just thinking about sitting in a dental chair. Please let me know! 🙂
Feel free to shoot me a private message if that's easier. Hvala!🙏
Has anyone here ever been to the Xavier Medical Group? I’m curious about their pricing and if the staff is friendly... To be honest, I have a massive phobia of dentists, so I'm really looking for someone who will actually be patient with me and won't judge me for avoiding the dentist's chair for years now. 😳Xavier is right across the street from my apartment, so it would be super convenient... has anyone had any luck there?
Thanks! 🙂
I figured it was finally time to jump in and join this forum! I’ve been working hard and saving up some decent cash while grinding through my studies, all just so I can finally move past my nose insecurities. I’ve decided to go with Glumičić. One of my best friends had her nose done by him about 7 or 8 years ago, and honestly, it turned out absolutely perfect—it fits her facial structure so naturally. Back then, she mentioned paying around 10 $0.00... so I was wondering if anyone knows what the current ballpark prices are for a rhinoplasty with Glumičić these days? 😕
By the way, my other option was Tončić, but I totally ruled that out after seeing some of his before-and-after photos. I’m just not a fan of how he shapes the tip. To me, the bridge and the tip always look a bit too prominent... 🤷
Anyway, if anyone could help me out with those pricing details, I would be so incredibly grateful. And really, any little insight or info you have about Glumičić would be amazing! 🙂
Does anyone have a recommendation for a solid GP over near Rockefeller, by the Gupcev intersection? I'm pretty sure there's a medical center right on that street. It looks like they have a OBGYN and a dental clinic, so I'm guessing they probably offer general practice too. If you happen to know their office hours, that would be amazing. Thanks! 🙂
Laura Mendoza said:My friend was cheated out of three months; her prescription was supposed to be renewed every quarter, but that’s not always the case. Honestly, just check with your local pharmacist—rules aren't always set in stone. I personally know a few women whose prescriptions last for six months, and for other types of medication, they typically issue them for an entire year. So... just ask. You've got nothing to lose.🙂
No biggie. Today’s actually my first day on this new medication regimen, which means I really ought to get started on them today, but I honestly have no clue which pharmacy in town stays open all day long. Plus, my leg has been acting up since yesterday, so I’m not exactly in the mood to be trekking all over town hunting for pills.😢
Laura Mendoza said:Actually, it’s valid for a full year, but I’m not sure which specific recipe earns you that freebie. Maybe the Diane 35? If that’s the case, then their "one-year validity" claim doesn't really hold water.
Yeah, I’m currently on Diane 35. So, how long does their prescription actually cover then?
Hey ladies, does anyone happen to know how long a doctor's prescription for birth control pills actually stays valid? I ended up taking a little break because of some other stuff going on—nothing major, just life getting in the way—and now I’m looking to get back on track, but my doctor is actually away on vacation right now. They told me to swing by on a specific day, but then it hit me 😠 that I still have this old prescription from January 30th sitting here. So now I'm wondering, is this thing even good for anything anymore? 🙈 I’m pretty sure the answer is probably no, but I figured I’d ask you all before I just toss $33 these tablets that I could have picked up for free... 🙄
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a primary care doctor near Broadway in NYC? I'm trying to figure out who's available because I’d love to have my whole medical team close together—my gynecologist and dermatologist are already right there on Broadway. Thanks!😁
So, here’s the deal. I have a massive, genuine fear of dentists—honestly, it's pretty bad—so I haven't been to an appointment in over a year, even though I really need to go because one of my fillings just popped out. I am desperately looking for someone who will actually try their best to save my tooth rather than just pulling it immediately; I've heard horror stories from a few people about a dentist I tried seeing last year who did exactly that. Since it's been a full year now, I want to find someone patient, high-quality, and who isn't stingy with the anesthesia, all while being budget-friendly since I'm a student and private clinics are just way out of my reach right now. So far, the best glowing reviews and recommendations I've come across are for Dr. Zrinka and Igor Matković. Does anyone know anything about them or has anyone actually sat in their chair before?
I know I'm rambling quite a bit, but it's my teeth on the line, and the lady I used to see was 😠.
Does anyone happen to know what the maximum limit is for getting something on an American Express? I heard somewhere it might be up to 2 $0.00, but I really wanted to double-check before I commit. Thanks!
Also, does anyone actually have that specific package? I'd love to hear if you're happy with it or if it's worth it...
