Alexander Richardson8 said:So, what you're saying is we're stuck with La Redoute as our only option now?
Everything there is overpriced; I've personally never found anything worth ordering from them.🙂🙂🙂

Look, La Redoute is insanely pricey and the shipping takes forever—like three months if I remember right. But honestly? The stuff I *did* get was legit high quality. I still have some basic tees from five years ago that I wear around the house, and not a single seam has popped or even budged. For example, I've got this bright fuchsia cotton shirt I wash at 160 or 140 degrees and it’s practically indestructible. My husband used to snag my underwear and shirts too, and they held up great (even though we both just grabbed the cheapest stuff they had). Haven't ordered lately mostly because that wait time drives me nuts. Too impatient for me. 😛

Thomas Patel65 said:Thanks for filling me in. Honestly, it’s a damn shame if they really were like that... It’s just a sad reality when people act like everything is too expensive to bother with—they end up killing the whole vibe instead of actually making things happen. 😢

I don't know how much they were looking for you specifically?! That info is huge for me if you can share. We had a public fundraiser, and maybe I'm wrong, but once they heard the amount we pulled in, it felt like they just stopped trying. I think we messed up by not speaking up sooner, too. We actually had an agreement: if after, say, three songs—something fun—they didn't connect with the crowd, they’d switch up the setlist. But they totally blew off that deal. Looking back, they played two songs, then some Midwest tunes, then a bunch of choral and party stuff. If the party had wrapped up by 1 AM, I would've been thrilled because they were killing it until then; after that, it was just pathetic. It's probably on us, though—neither the groom nor I are from the Midwest. We'd only ever heard them online, not live. When we walked into the hall where dinner was happening and heard them, we were stoked, thinking we made a killer choice. Honestly, I stopped paying attention to the band because I just assumed, "Yeah, these guys are pros, they'll get the job done." Turns out, I should've kept them on a shorter leash all night.

Thomas Patel65 said:Thanks for getting back to me! I’ve still got a few things I’m wondering about them—specifically if anyone here has actually been to a wedding where they were the ones playing. Like, do they actually nail those classic Midwestern folk songs and the upbeat party tracks? They seem pretty energetic and lively from what I can tell, but I’m just not sure if they can actually handle the traditional stuff...

I mean, they probably do, 😁

I'm not from the Midwest, so most of these local bands feel a bit foreign to me... any advice at all would be huge. 😁
As for the Libertarian Party, I know they can do the acoustic folk and rock stuff well enough, but they strike me as being a little too stiff and formal for my taste.

Libertarian Party? Hard pass. They played our gig last Saturday and they were killing it until midnight, but after that, it felt like they couldn't wait to get out of there. One of their speakers even blew out. Plus, they skipped some songs I requested. Honestly, way too much money for what you actually get.

What’s their pricing look like and what's included in the package? Any way to check out their portfolio online?!

Anyone got a solid recommendation for hair and makeup around the Z-V-K area and the surrounding suburbs?!!

Michael Baker5 said:So, I actually went to a wedding where they played, and honestly, I thought they were fantastic! I mean, the dance floor was absolutely packed the entire night. I can't even remember if they took any breaks or anything (it was a June 29th wedding this year). They played a bit of everything—everything from Madonna and Gangnam Style to traditional folk songs. My only tiny gripe is that things slowed down a little during dinner; they played a bunch of acappella groups and some slower tunes, which was a bit dull, but hey, we were eating, so we survived! We were pretty hungry anyway, haha. 🤣 I guess the newlyweds specifically asked for that acappella style because they wanted it for their first dance. Anyway, big thumbs up from me! Everyone else seemed really happy too.

That’s awesome then. They’re playing our party on October 12th. We're meeting up in the Midwest, even though we don't live there. We'd never heard of them, but we booked them on a recommendation since everyone else we wanted was already taken (we tried to put down deposits in October, and everything was booked up). It turns out if you actually want a specific band and a venue you like on the date you want, you have to book them like a year and a half in advance. What a joke.

Anyone here actually seen the Vox band from Dakota live, or maybe caught them playing at some party?

Thanks 🙂. Whereabouts is she from? I'm definitely gonna reach out since I don't really know anyone in that area. Also, where did you guys get your Hairstyle and nails done?!

Kevin Smith7 said:She told me, "No," and then she just shows me a photo instead of actually doing the hair so others can see the style, which isn't helpful at all. Plus, since I was attending a wedding that Saturday, I asked her if we could do a trial, but she wouldn't agree to it. You had such a smooth experience with your stylist, but I'm definitely not having that luck with mine. 🙂 She just dismissed me by saying my hair is "simple." Honestly, though, I'm terrified that even with this "simple" style, she’s going to mess it up completely.
I want big, voluminous curls with something like a braid swept up in the front.
I've been browsing online, and I'm really not feeling those overly fussy, decorated hairstyles.
Does anyone know a good website or maybe a Facebook group where I can see photos of actual wedding parties?

Also, does anyone know a good makeup artist in VK-ZU?

I need a recommendation for hair and makeup—anyone got leads? 🙂

Can I get his contact info? Also, how many of you actually showed up? Shoot me a PM if you want.
