I hear what you're getting at, but you really need to take a closer look at the actual statutes. Under the law, it’s strictly stated that "participating in foreign gambling operations is prohibited if the stakes are placed within the USA."
With legislation written this way, how is anyone actually going to prove exactly where you placed those bets, regardless of whether the funds end up hitting your bank account here in the States?

That is the only way they gain the right to offer their services to American players. No one is stopping them from doing exactly that. Since they are playing coy, the next logical step will be the US government demanding

So, how exactly is a site like FanDuel.com offering services to us here in America? I don't see any advertising anywhere. Our government would love nothing more than to ban things just to squeeze more tax money out of us, yet they won't lift a finger to actually enforce anything beyond making accusations. If they truly wanted to ban something, why not just effectively block access to the site? If they could actually ensure that no one with an American IP address could deposit funds into FanDuel.com, then—and only then—would the problem actually be solved.

That's not going to fly. Every state has its own authority to regulate online gambling laws, so shouldn't we be focusing our energy on more pressing matters, like those suspicious wire transfers coming out of places like Florida?

The over/under listed under the goal line doesn't actually count toward your total; you need to look at the match goals instead, which usually carries a slightly lower coefficient than the standard goal line.

And here we are, circling back to this same old magical loop. Honestly, how is anyone supposed to actually prove they placed a specific bet while physically standing on US soil? It wouldn't even be a stretch for me to hop onto a Canadian network and claim I was betting from there, especially since the rules are so incredibly vague about whether an online transaction even counts as being within the borders of the US.

Since the odds look identical and there’s a date listed for April 22nd alongside other coefficients, isn't it obvious this is strictly for today?
In reality, betting 1.35 that Bayern Munich-Porto won't end in a 3:1 scoreline is just common sense, right?

I haven't run into any trouble personally, though I haven't been moving massive sums of money through them either; however, I just read about someone who was denied a withdrawal for a significantly larger amount—to quote him directly... 5-figure amount lost
Worst experience ever : PayPal customer service is usually pretty good, but they become entirely unresponsive as soon as you want to pay out larger amounts (5-figure).
I had a minor problem, and sent them 5 e-mails (first: 2 months ago, last: 3 weeks 3 weeks ago), and I got only one answer: a standard reply that wasn't of any help.

I actually just picked up their debit card, but after stumbling upon this, I’m seriously questioning whether I should even bother using them anymore because this doesn't inspire an ounce of confidence... I hadn't noticed much negativity while browsing locally, but seeing that 81.2% of people gave them a 1-star rating is genuinely alarming, isn't it?

Dammit, it's all too obvious, isn't it? It just confirmed my suspicions that I was right to be wary of this whole thing:

I received this rather interesting email from an unnamed sportsbook, which, once run through a translator, roughly translates to this:

So, they are essentially suggesting ways to dodge the law, aren't they?😁

Well, it’s all right there in the terms and conditions, isn't it? There really isn't anything to argue about.

If my memory serves me right, my original USA account is limited to a tiny little cage holding about fifty animals, so I'm really at a loss as to how I'm supposed to respond to your claims 🤷

Joseph Stewart38 said:So, apparently, if you dare to take their money just once on some minor league match, you're essentially banned from ever seeing a decent payout in any sport again because you had the audacity to win a few thousand dollars on a non-major event? 🤦

Please, tell me this isn't actually true... it feels like we're talking about some small-town corner bookie rather than world-renowned institutions.

No, you've misread me again; I wrote that once you get limited, you stay limited for life. 😁
And the real answer to the question above is that there's a massive probability you'll face a limit if you walk away with significant cash from a lower-tier competition...

Too good to be true.

Fine, let's say you actually nail that bet; will they restrict you solely to those specific matchups, or will the hammer fall on everything you ever touch in the future, including Grand Slams, the Champions League, and everything else under the sun?
Is bet365 really going to shadow-ban you for life from all betting just because you managed to hit one massive win on some random futures or a Challenger match??

When bet365 decides to limit you, it’s total and permanent. I've tried pleading with them several times, and while they always give you the "we'll review it" line, they never actually follow through. Someone once told me their limits were lifted, but honestly, that was ages ago—probably back when I was still betting seriously....
bet at home - got limited on live betting, but pre-match was fine.
william hill - got limited on pre-match, but live was fine.

So, everyone plays games with their restrictions, except for bet365; once they flag you, your only real option is to start begging for a friend's, a parent's, or an uncle's identity to use. 😁

Joseph Stewart38 said:So, we’ve talked about the live betting... but what about the limits on pre-match action? Say you're looking at an average ATP or WTA match—how much can you actually drop before they start breathing down your neck and limiting your account?

John Bishop37 said:Joseph Stewart38, I couldn't agree more with a single word you wrote. These absolute losers of ours were throwing around massive amounts of money, and frankly, I’m only just now starting to make sense of the whole mess. Let’s look at a hypothetical scenario with BetMGM: say I drop 300 dollars on a few parlays involving the top European leagues and the Champions League, hitting a 10.00 odd to pocket a cool 3,000 dollars. Am I really going to have to worry about getting my account flagged or limited?

Do you people even bother reading what's being written here? Seriously. If you actually placed a bet on Federer vs. Djokovic for a five-figure sum in US dollars—assuming we were at the site of that recent national referendum—would you really be worried about hitting a betting limit when the odds are sitting at 25? Or are you just going to ignore the obvious?

If you actually manage to hit a +300 underdog in that upcoming match between Aleksenko and Agabugin, don't be surprised when you suddenly find yourself facing a permanent limit on your account. Is it really too much to ask for a little bit of luck without getting punished for it?

And my response to the highlighted point—I suppose it should be perfectly obvious from what I’ve already laid out, shouldn't it? No.

Anthony Perez55 said:If this turns out to be true, it just confirms my suspicions that BetMGM occasionally throws out live matches that look incredibly shady.

We’ve already beaten this topic to death, but here we go again... BetMGM doesn't even have a rule regarding how long friendlies need to last. If they play two 25-minute halves, you lose. If you were playing the under and found out beforehand they were doing 2x25, wouldn't you have made a killing—assuming three goals didn't drop before the 50th minute, of course?
Friendlies are a massive gamble. I was watching one of our local exhibition games the other day where the ref casually called halftime in the 42nd minute. Usually, there's no stoppage time in friendlies, but this guy decided to add extra time for the first half and didn't blow the whistle until around the 95th minute.
Anthony Perez55 said:I could swear it was just half an hour ago that UCD Waves scored two quick ones at the start; if I had placed an over 3.5 goals bet in the 20th minute, I would have lost...
I think I even remember the FT being 3-0, if I recall correctly..

Well, did you actually jump on their live chat, send them a link to the delayed match, and ask what the deal was? Did you push them to provide a source if they insisted your bet was a loser?

And here is a little piece of advice—not just for you, but for everyone. You walk into that chat with humility; you act polite because you suspect something isn't quite right.
If they present evidence that you're wrong, then you apologize. But how can they truly be certain when you’re holding specific links and data? Once they've proven their point, you politely plead for understanding, perhaps asking if, as a loyal customer, they might offer some sort of goodwill bonus to make up for the frustration.
Of course, if you suspect they aren't actually in the right, despite their insistence, and all else fails, you threaten to take it straight to the IBAS, or failing that, to the SBR.
It really depends on which sportsbook you're dealing with.
I once had a dispute with a major bookmaker via IBAS; I was absolutely right and had everything documented in black and white, but they seemed determined to be stubborn just for the sake of it...

James Taylor3 said:When it comes to parlays, DraftKings is my go-to choice.
For live betting, DraftKings is miles ahead—their selection is massive, and the odds and settlements are top-tier.

Just a few days ago, I was actually comparing the odds on a soccer match between USA live lines and DraftKings.

I can't recall exactly which minute it was, but it doesn't really matter; while the over/under odds at the local US books were sitting around 1.60-2.10, DraftKings seemed to be offering something more like 1.65-2.25.
And let’s not forget that our domestic sportsbooks will hit you with the vig and a 10% tax, so those 1.60 odds end up looking significantly worse.

Among the international options, the only ones I wouldn't recommend are BetMGM and DraftKings; they are honestly terrible when it comes to both their variety and their pricing.

but they are actually the best for spotting errors. It's true, sometimes they void bets, and other times they just swallow their pride and admit they messed up.

Welcome to the group, everyone; I’d suggest you all take a moment to scout out which sportsbooks are actually offering decent bonuses right now. For instance, sites like DraftKings or BetMGM tend to have some pretty solid incentives available—just make sure you actually bother reading the fine print on the terms and conditions first, won't you?

It's a decent sportsbook, though I have to say, the payouts take their sweet time—expect about a two-day wait if you're using Skrill.

Technically, you could, but why on earth would you want to take that risk? We’ve all heard those horror stories where the transfer just vanishes into thin air, leaving you absolutely powerless to pull your money back...

Anthony Perez55 said:this is essentially what we were discussing the other day in a different thread...

some shady character rigged the score during the New York-Newark half just three minutes before the whistle blew
and if I actually try to file a complaint, those bastards at DraftKings will just give me the usual runaround—"everything was processed correctly, we aren't responsible for data accuracy, blah blah blah"...

I swear, they can take their nonsense and shove it somewhere far away.🙂

Honestly, it's better to just stay away from these friendlies; they're absolute breeding grounds for match-fixing, with way too many suspicious scorelines and game flows. At least avoiding them keeps things boring.

Actually, you're wrong; DraftKings has a specific policy:

All match markets are based on the result at the end of a scheduled 90 minutes play unless otherwise stated. This includes any added injury or stoppage time but does not include extra-time, time allocated for a penalty shootout or golden goal.

The exceptions to this rule are in relation to friendly matches, where all match markets will be settled based on the actual result when the game finishes (excluding any extra-time), irrespective of whether the full 90 minutes is played

The rule is completely insane, but there's nothing you can do about it. I once placed an over bet on the first half, and the goal went in around the 46th minute or something similar, yet they wouldn't even void the bet.
On the flip side, the Asian bookmakers tend to have much more reasonable rules. They recognize 2X45 or 2X40; you don't necessarily have to specify 2X40, but everything else gets voided.

Chris Nguyen31 said:I’ve got three accounts on each site; none of them asked for ID on the .com versions, yet they demanded documents for every single one on the .uk sites. I mostly use PayPal and Neteller for deposits and withdrawals.

Is that really enough of a sample size to confidently claim they don't ask for verification?😁
Otherwise, when I tried to proactively send over my documents during registration on one of them, they actually rejected me—apparently, they prefer to request documentation only when they deem it absolutely necessary.🙄
