Buses and streetcars are packed with old ladies
in Miscellaneous ·
Yeah, seriously... we should probably just put up "No Seniors Allowed" signs on the subway and city buses specifically for people like the OP...
Those "grandmas" you’re talking about? They were women who worked their tails off their entire lives. Every single day was a grind—raising kids, cooking, cleaning, constant chaos. There was never a dull moment in their lives.
Now that they've finally gotten the kids through school, and maybe most of them are living alone now, things have changed. They don't have to rush to an office, iron clothes, or cook massive meals every night like they used to. When life loses that frantic energy and those little joys aren't a big deal anymore, things can get pretty empty and boring. Their one little highlight might just be getting up early—since they're still waking up at dawn—to head down to the farmers market and chat with other old folks (the ones you call "grandmas")...
And honestly, so what? They don't bother me at all. What bothers me are the women who hit 60 or 70 and somehow never learned basic manners, so they just harass everyone for no reason. But when an 80-year-old lady gives you an apple because you gave up your seat for her—and you can tell she actually means it from the heart—it makes your whole day. You feel good about it. I mean, have you ever even tried doing something like that?😍
