Where can I buy a flag on a pole? in Close to Politics ·
Jack Cook7 said:I honestly think this is a huge deal.

The laws here in the States are super vague when it comes to flying flags. That’s why you see the EU flag on basically every street corner, but our own colors? Not nearly as much.

Seriously though, what’s the actual protocol for putting the American flag on your building, your house, a school, a local basketball court, or just some spot because you feel like it? Is there even a way?

Where are the rules that say whether I can just go out onto a frozen pond, dig a hole, and stick a 30-foot flagpole in the ground with the Stars and Stripes? And what happens if someone tries to tear it down?

Man, my hands are itching to get to work...🙂

Just look at the USA flag hanging right in front of the Department of Homeland Security on the Potomac. It hangs there every day like we're getting constant visits from overseas. Even though the people haven't really made a definitive call on everything yet. It feels a bit petty, honestly.
Nationalists or Partisans? in Close to Politics ·
So, who actually had it right here? Is it even fair for the partisans to claim the anti-fascist mantle? Were those guys actually fighting for an American state, or just their own interests? And honestly, if the Axis powers had been backed by the Russians instead of the Allies, would they be running things in America today?
Why does this whole debate keep resurfacing every single election cycle?
Do people seriously cast their votes for a political party just because of how that party interprets this slice of history?
I guess if you look at the core principles of both movements—their methods versus their actual end goals—it tells a different story.
