Daddy or mommy issues: how do I deal with them? in Psychology & Therapy ·
Moving out was the best decision you could have made. I get where you're coming from—it's your Dad in your situation, whereas for me, it was my Mom. I had to step up and handle everything myself. Even though I haven't lived under the same roof for six months now, they still admit they're lost without someone there to cook, clean, fix things, or just grab what's needed... someone is available, they just won't do it.
You’ll never truly erase those old scars; you just have to learn how to live with them. Don't isolate yourself. Go out, meet people, just relax. I suspect your confidence has taken a hit. It certainly did mine. Believe in yourself and try to stop overthinking everything. When your buddies make a joke about women, you take it as a personal attack on the entire gender. Just let it go.

My pain is catastrophic. It’s so intense I end up vomiting, dealing with digestive issues, tinnitus, muscle spasms... I’ve even blacked out a few times. Not a "real" fainting spell, just a total system reset. Like being switched off and then back on a minute or two later.
Nothing worked. Neofen Forte 400 mg—I took two at once—nothing.
Everything else is fine, but when I asked my doctor how it was possible to hurt this much, her response was basically: "Some people get them, some don't. Just take pills, you'll be fine." 🙂
Eventually, I lost it. Went to the pharmacy and told them to give me the strongest stuff they had. Got lucky, though. The woman behind the counter deals with the same brutal cramps and suggested this: Nalgesin is the heavy hitter for period pain. If my cycle is regular, I take one the day before (since I only weigh about 100 lbs, I can only handle two a day max 🙄). She also gave me Dietpharma Magnesium 375, which I start taking 3 or 4 days before my period starts. They're effervescent tablets with Vitamin C and B6. Since they act like a laxative on me, I break the tablet apart and sip it slowly throughout the day to keep my magnesium levels steady. Keeps me from having to run to the bathroom constantly.
All in all, it helped. The pain is manageable now. Unfortunately, it gets worse every single month, so I'm always hunting for a new solution. 🙂🙂🙂

A day or two before it starts, I get the warning. If it hits at night, I’m wide awake instantly. I take some Advil, and it helps, but the worst part is feeling the meds wear off. I try tea, but nothing works. I've tried massages and heat... my boyfriend rubbed my stomach and back, and his hands are always warm, which helped while he was doing it, but he can't do that for five days straight. I'm out of ideas. Honestly, I just dread when it arrives. I'll try birth control, and if that doesn't work, then to hell with everything.
