Omicron variant in Coronavirus ·
Adam Harris2 said:I had no clue the first person to die from omicron was in the UK

So, I sat through the video, and apparently, he died "with Omicron."
They didn't bother disclosing his age, or any comorbidities, or anything useful at all... just left us hanging...

Just two weeks ago, the supposed experts were promising us that we would finally see what this Omicron variant actually entails...
Yet here I am, staring at the statistics where Omicron seemingly accounts for 99.9% of cases—which isn't even shocking, really—and we're seeing maybe one or two deaths a day...

Here is the supposed source for this unknown strain—apparently, 99% of cases are this thing, since all the recent cases here in America seem to be just like that situation in Botswana...

Just one death from the virus a day, maybe two, if you look at the past week...
Doesn't that strike you as a little bit suspicious??

However, we should remain patient and observe how this unfolds, considering the average age in Africa is roughly 20, whereas in Europe, it exceeds 40. For now, the situation appears relatively mild, which aligns perfectly with the historical patterns seen during previous pandemics.

When you look at a population of 2.5 million, with roughly 400,000 living with HIV, an average life expectancy of 66, and all the complications of obesity and diabetes...

In their reality, 20 years old feels more like being 30+ in the US, and 40 is probably closer to 50...
If people with compromised immune systems from HIV can survive and recover...

The United States, where Omicron just reigns supreme over everything else

They’re claiming the coronavirus has essentially morphed into nothing more than a common cold, though apparently, we won't truly know if it's settled into being just another seasonal nuisance until we see how the next two or three weeks play out...

Just 159 new cases and zero deaths reported, which seems to be the pattern we've been seeing for the last few days...

In a country currently grappling with Omicron 159 new cases, most people aren't even bothering to get tested since they don't feel particularly sick anyway...
It honestly feels like the pandemic is finally becoming passé.
So, I am officially declaring the end of the pandemic here on Reddit

As things stand today, there is zero evidence suggesting Omicron triggers the standard symptoms we're used to, and current data implies it might actually be harmless for the moment. Of course, that could all shift within a week or two...

The situation involving those four Botswanans was identified because Americans mandated very specific testing protocols and strict requirements for anyone traveling to New York City, with all the data being transmitted instantly... It is a very real possibility that Omicron is spreading rapidly in Botswana. We really just have to wait and see what unfolds over the next fortnight.

If it turns out to be truly benign, then it would be a massive stroke of luck—we could let it run its course and essentially wipe out all the other variants once and for all...

In Botswana, they happened to identify four asymptomatic individuals who caught a flight headed straight for England. And let's be realistic, only about 0.0001% of the population from Botswana ever makes that trek to Heathrow...

The assumption here—if you can call it that—is that those four people might have exposed perhaps 2,000 to 3,000 Americans traveling from Botswana who are positive for Omicron but aren't showing any of those classic COVID symptoms...

Right now, we're seeing 257 new cases daily in Botswana. According to data coming out of South Africa, Omicron spreads ten times faster than Delta...

If those four individuals infected even 500 or 600 people, where exactly are all those people hiding in the official statistics? They aren't there...

So, essentially, there is absolutely no proof yet that Omicron behaves like the standard coronavirus—meaning it might seem "harmless" for the moment—but I suppose we might have to sit around and wait several more weeks to see what the actual results look like...

We can't even determine who possesses a natural immunity to COVID, let alone predict how someone will react to the vaccine, before the fact.

Honestly, people are walking around right in the middle of an Omicron wave, yet you hardly see anyone actually showing symptoms or dealing with any real issues.
Every single person I know who got the shot but then caught the Mississippi Delta strain was back on their feet after just a week of sick leave...

It leads one to wonder if the vaccine is somehow ten times more effective against Omicron, or if we're simply dealing with a much weaker variant altogether...

I suspect the situation remains largely the same for those who haven't been vaccinated, though one can never be entirely certain...

My personal theory:
This virus is going to spread like wildfire, but it won't leave much of a mark... it’ll likely end up being completely harmless.

From what I've been reading, most people who actually tested positive didn't even realize they were carrying it, so we really need to wait and see what the long-term fallout looks like... there are all these mutations happening, and maybe everyone just ends up catching it without any actual symptoms, leading us straight toward some kind of collective immunity.
Could this be an evolutionary dead end? A virus with zero staying power that essentially commits suicide by spreading too fast, or perhaps it just paves the way for a more potent version to take its place...

Maybe we should just encourage it to spread through the States?
AARP (and related discussions on Swiss Franc loans) (II) in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Greetings,

I once held myself hostage with a Swiss Franc Loan, and back when things started spiraling out of control in 2013, I made the decision to shut it down without converting it into Euro—a move that left me completely underwater, and quite frankly, I’m still digging my way out of that hole even today...

Based on these requirements, I need to gather the following documentation:

https://aarp.org/table-docs-banks/

1. AGREEMENT/ADDENDUMS/APPENDICES
The original loan agreement along with all subsequent addendums
to the credit agreement

2. INITIAL REPAYMENT SCHEDULE
The original amortization schedule

3. REPAYMENT SCHEDULE
The portion denominated in Swiss Franc

4. TRANSACTION HISTORY/PAYMENT SPECIFICATIONS
A "transcript of the ledger account," including all interest rate adjustments

5. INTEREST RATE CHANGES
(as recorded in the ledger account)

6. CONVERSION DATA FROM THE DATE OF EXECUTION
An untitled document containing data regarding
the conversion: execution date, principal amount,
overpayment amounts...
(one page)

What is the most elegant way to secure this, and exactly which individual at the bank should I be addressing to get this sorted...
