Russia's invasion of Ukraine: Part 5 in War in Ukraine ·

The late Kuljish really laid it all out back in 2018—he explained what Russia actually represents today and how they’ve been masterfully digging around both the fringes and the absolute heart of Europe.

It’s just wild how much we struggle and how little we seem to have in terms of actual, reliable institutions

Man, I was just scrolling through some major US news outlets and saw this claim that Ukrainians actually agreed to all of Russia's demands back on March 29th, and that’s supposedly why the Russians pulled back from Kyiv

And then they go on to say that it was only after that agreement that the Russians actually started fighting in earnest...

Honestly, the sheer amount of stupidity floating around out there is just unbelievable...
Thomas is doing deliveries through DoorDash
Fishing Rod Co. via delivery apps too

The whole idea behind stores sticking to store hours 9 to 5 is basically just trying to manage everything in one single shift... it means fewer employees are actually out there interacting with customers, and they can keep the crowds down by limiting how many people are in the aisles, plus everyone’s wearing gloves and masks and there’s all that plexiglass shielding the cashiers
And man, you can't escape those constant announcements over the speakers telling you not to touch anything unless you're actually planning on buying it...

The government is set to announce tomorrow whether they're going to ease up on the restrictions again, so we'll just have to wait and see what the new procedures look like
Personally, I’m really not a fan of the idea of cutting staff in retail stores... I feel like having people off on their weekends or just running a single shift really hurts sales and makes it so much harder to manage the workload effectively.
Plus, if you're living in a place like Washington, D.C., you can honestly get pretty much anything delivered right to your door with a few clicks, so there isn't even a huge need to head out to the store in person anyway.
That seems to be where everything is heading... the future is definitely shifting toward that kind of convenience.

I honestly think this book is an absolute must-read for everyone out there...

The trailer was kind of a mess though, since it basically spoiled way too much of the plot, but looking at the solid Rotten Tomatoes scores and its IMDb rating, I really feel like it's worth checking out

I really think I’m going to have to sit down and actually read the book...
and then maybe catch the movie too...
Hail, Caesar! (2016) in Movies ·
Out of about forty people there, only ten actually showed up... then an hour later, me and my buddy finally made our exit too. Honestly, what was the point of all those disjointed, random scenes? There wasn't any actual plot movement whatsoever... just a bunch of nothing. And then, right after Channing Tatum finished his dance number, we were out the door.

That was such a great comedy we just saw at the theater, I’m still laughing about certain parts in my head...

Highly recommend it!

I was halfway through watching my favorite show when I realized the whole romance between the girl and the guy was moving way too fast... they barely even met, he just saw her playing music once, and suddenly they’re practically inseparable. It feels like they hung out twice and by the third time they're already living together or something...
Horns (2013) in Movies ·
The soundtrack is absolutely stellar, and I think Daniel really nailed his performance... for the first third, the movie is super engaging and keeps you hooked, but then it kind of shifts gears into this typical revenge flick with a villain that just didn't land for me. It never really dives into why all those supernatural things are happening, which felt a bit odd... it’s definitely an R-rated movie for good reason, though it doesn't feel like they're overdoing the nudity just for the sake of it. I have to admit, the main character's narration was a little grating at times, but I was actually pleasantly surprised to see Heather Graham in this, since I've always been such a fan of hers...

6/10
Our local dubbing is just killing me...

haha, what a total mess...

There are two kidnappers.

The guy hands Neeson a gun just to gain his trust, which is clever, but more importantly, he wants Neeson to stay in control of the situation inside the plane itself.

Actually, there are three hijackers if you look closer. You've got the guys with the stun guns who eventually hand him the weapon, then you have the tech guy who acts as the programmer and crafts that virus with the image, and finally there's the agent carrying the cocaine who decides to cooperate just because the money is right...

I honestly found the movie so engaging and tense, and man, Liam Neeson is just an absolute legend when it comes to these kinds of thrillers, it feels like he pulls off these intense roles without even breaking a sweat... Julianne Moore was equally captivating too, playing that character with such a twisted, unpredictable edge, she always seems to be teetering right on the brink of losing it. That slow-motion gun scene was seriously peak cinema, haha! I did feel like there was a bit too much unnecessary drama involving the kid, though that kind of thing is pretty much expected in these movies anyway...

spoiler:

Wait, am I really understanding this correctly about the four kidnappers? I'm still a little tripped up on that part where they have their hands tied with those zip ties and then somehow hand Neeson the gun... if you're hijacking a plane, why on earth are you handing him the weapon? And also, were there actually four kidnappers? Because I only caught sight of two of them with parachutes...
Well, hello there!

The younger crowd, those who don't have any memories of the old days to look back on, they don't really tune into channels like unknown... As long as it’s being funded by private investors, I suppose it doesn't matter much to me, though I wonder if some people find themselves drifting back to those nostalgic feelings of their first date at the local AMC theater, or maybe just reminiscing about those old political rallies from back in the day, but honestly, it's all the same to me...
