MLS 2022/23 Season: Part 2 in Soccer ·
Wait, what was the word regarding them filming the torch relay?

Benov is 🙏

Honestly, you shouldn't have even stepped into the box at the 16-yard mark for that penalty in the first place!
MLS 2022/23 Season: Part 2 in Soccer ·
Under these latest VAR guidelines, that’s a perfectly legitimate goal!☕

I’m sorry, I just don't follow—what part of this is actually delusional? Who exactly delegated the referees, was it the Hajduk organization? And do you honestly believe that cat's reaction was just some random coincidence?

What do you think was the real reason Miško was so dead set against the Premier League owners' association?

Hold on a second, folks! We all gathered here because everyone was shamelessly claiming that Hajduk led the pack in penalty calls before VAR was even a thing. Well, now that we have the actual evidence in front of us, it turns out we’re just a bunch of whiners after all! 🙏

How on earth is Hajduk supposed to help out when Rijeka goes and snatches a few vans from the main fleet?

Honestly, looking back at that intense derby against the guys from Bruno... they were so incredibly lucky when we didn't get a clear penalty after one of their players clearly handled the ball. It’s just funny how things work out! Now, suddenly, they’re the ones crying for a penalty because of some phantom foul outside the box. Talk about irony! 🙏

Is that the handball goal?
Just like Mirza Đomba, cutting in from the wing and scoring with his hand...

And don't even get me started on that legendary Calleva handball. Honestly, if it weren't for that specific camera angle, people would still be out there claiming the officiating was a fifty-fifty call.

For me, the absolute peak of insanity was that derby back in the fall of 2017 in Seattle. GNK was leading 2-1, and I am positive there was a penalty on Erceg that would have tied it up at 2-2. Then, on the very next play, an even more obvious penalty happens, and nothing! Absolutely nothing gets called!🙏

And then you have Beusan popping up on ESPN just to say, "Look, you can't really call two penalties in stoppage time." Unbelievable.🙏

Look, if you actually bother to check the stats from the last season before they brought in VAR, the team was sitting at sixth for most penalties conceded, just like the season before that too. I mean, it's right there. 😳

But hey, by all means, feel free to go dig through the old season archives yourselves if you want to keep obsessing over it. 😬

And honestly, just imagine how much it would hurt if they actually had a sense of shame.

The absolute nerve of these people!!

But wait, wasn't this all happening after that massive blowout against the Shakhtar squad?

And here we go again, letting people run wild without any repercussions—those who dare to cast doubt on the absolute integrity of the officiating body led by the blessed Bruno.

Honestly, at the very start of the season, I was convinced they were the top candidates for getting knocked out.😁

Now, look, Ben actually clocked in at about 12.5 miles of pure, unadulterated distance last round. That’s exactly why he’s such a standout! It isn't just that his technique is absolutely flawless—though it really is—it’s the sheer volume of running he puts in. He just keeps going!

That’s why we managed to play even remotely decent for maybe thirty minutes out of all ten or whatever of Leki’s games. I know how it works—people watch soccer, see a team struggle for nine weeks and then suddenly play one good game, and they’re like, "Why can't they play like this every week?" But the reality is they can't play like that constantly because they just aren't mentally or physically built to sustain it.

Look, if a player like Vukcevic can make that system work for a team like Seattle Sounders, then surely we have at least seven or eight high-motor players who could handle it.☕

When you look at the tempo, I’d say we’re seeing an incredibly high frequency of direct attacks paired with intense pressure to regain possession. It’s exactly the kind of relentless energy that looked absolutely brilliant during the second half against San Diego when we had the man advantage.
MLS 2022/23 Season: Part 2 in Soccer ·
There are clearly strategic reasons behind wanting to play this way long-term, and it all boils down to tempo. It feels to me like he wants to use pace as his primary weapon to overwhelm the league. Sticking to a predictable, cookie-cutter 4-2-3-1 might net him more points right this second, but it wouldn't provide that essential leap forward in quality.

You can absolutely kill a game with high tempo regardless of which formation you run, but his assessment is that this specific approach is how they reach the next level. That’s just my logic. Don't hold it against me, though—I'm honestly just exhausted from this endless, schizophrenic cycle of hype and heartbreak.

And what exactly would you do if you were sitting in the CEO's chair over at General Motors?

Man, we’re just wandering aimlessly out there. We are missing way too many key players, and honestly? Rijeka looked the better side. If they had just known how to flip those roles around while playing at the stadium in Tampa, they would have headed home with all three points. Besides, those kinds of underdog victories? They’re easily the sweetest kind of win.
