Russia's invasion of Ukraine: Part 5 in War in Ukraine ·
silvermarlin56 said:Fast forward to today: since they can't find any actual military targets, they've started hitting grain silos instead. What, do we need to "denazify" the wheat too after that whole Bear from Svalbard situation? Was there some Nazi symbol or an "88" stamped on that grain being bombed right now? Are the people eating that grain suddenly Nazis too?

The sheer scale of war crimes and pure immorality Russia is showing in this war is terrifying. They're disgusting.

Quincy:
The consequences of these sanctions haven't even fully hit yet. If this war drags on past the end of summer, Russia will be completely wiped from the long-term planning of major corporations for next year—they'll become nothing more than write-offs on a balance sheet, making everyone think twice before ever attempting to touch that market again.
Besides, most of those companies have enough cash reserves to absorb the blow—any losses on their balance sheets from abandoning the Russian market will be absolutely negligible.

Then there's the chips... I know you'll find it hard to "believe," but they actually get used up. Every once in a while, they need to be replaced. Think of it like a lightbulb, just way more advanced and significantly more expensive.

Those balance sheet losses are already wiped out by inflation. 😉

Amy Rogers6 said:Since you’re clearly such a genius, why don't you explain how Russia managed to stay on its feet despite all those sanctions and massive pressure? They were supposed to have completely imploded within three months, right? At least that's what the big-shot Anglo think tanks were preaching at the start of the war. Honestly, looking at the sheer scale of the sanctions, I personally figured the Russians would be neck-deep in it—maybe even triple-dipping in crap—by now.

It’s like you guys all collectively lost the few brain cells you had left to pure fanaticism. There’s zero substance here—just mindless cheering. You sound exactly like the Russian agenda, just on the flip side of the coin. Honestly, that’s why I stayed away from this thread; you can’t find three smart people in here. It’s nothing but blind hype that completely ignores geopolitical reality.

I'm out. I'll leave you guys to your cheering and shouting. See ya this winter—assuming this war doesn't drag on forever. I'm actually pretty curious to see what you'll have to say about the global geopolitical situation once we're deep in it.☕

It’s hilarious how the Russia-haters are threatening them with a cold winter while ignoring how that winter is actually going to look in Russia.

Sanctions have hammered the Russian economy hard. Once their stockpiles of "Western" goods run dry, you're going to see panic. And I'm not talking about McDonald's; I'm talking about the tech without which Russian industry simply stops working.

The real consequences haven't even hit yet. If this war doesn't wrap up by late summer, Russia gets wiped from every corporate roadmap for next year. They become a write-off on balance sheets, and everyone will think twice before ever looking at that market again. A huge chunk of the Russian middle class will be jobless and broke by autumn. If Europe runs into trouble, believe me, you'll see a massive wave of Russophobia after summer. Don't be surprised when visas get revoked and people get sent back home.

If the kleptomaniac in the White House doesn't wise up, a new wall goes up and nobody will be doing business with Russians for the next 50 years. Don't worry, West... you'll survive. If you can't survive without writing off a wreck like Russia, you don't deserve to.

Sure. We'll just end up paying Russia in Bitcoin anyway.

I honestly don't get why some of these people are so desperate to ignore what's actually happening right in front of them, typing away about some massive Russian defeat like it's a done deal... a little reality check wouldn't hurt anyone. I was just listening to rt, and they're saying things are getting so messy that Ukraine doesn't even have full control over their own military anymore, with basically paramilitary groups and extremists running the show instead..

The Russians could flatten all of Ukraine in an hour. No need to explain, we all know it.

But Vladimir Putin lost this war, and Ukraine and Ukrainians are going down in history as heroes.

Check out this video—there's an elderly Ukrainian man out there digging a trench right next to one of the main highways in Kyiv.

Grandpa laid it out like a pharmacy... the Russians are screwed if they mess with him.

Putin already lost this war.

He managed to unite all of Ukraine against him, and even the Russians over there who backed him probably hate his guts by now.
The Chinese are just sitting on the sidelines because they can see he completely blew it.
Back home, Americans are slowly starting to wake up to reality, realizing that if Putin’s madness doesn't stop, they're heading right back behind an iron curtain—totally cut off from the rest of the world.

I just hope someone stops him before he makes things even worse.

This isn't the West, where you can't touch a Russian soldier without some human rights excuse being thrown in your face. Here, the cameraman would be gone just as fast—and nobody's going to bother bringing them to court.

You're watching this wrong.

The point isn't whether the soldier pulls the trigger or not. The point is that the old man has balls. He's lecturing an armed Russian idiot like he's just standing on his porch in front of a convenience store.

Against people like this, the Russians would be better off packing up and leaving... there's nothing left for them to find there.

Rebecca Lewis7 said:It is because those neo-Nazi Azov battalions don't even number 20,000; they are the only ones actually providing resistance, plus all the chaos.

The Americans are absolutely fed up with the corruption... the empty promises... and the daily looting by both politicians and officials... not to mention the Nazi slogans, the censorship... throwing representatives into the trash along with the garbage, the threats from extremists, and the bans on Canadian... Romanian... schools...

Much like how Americans, after years of indulging in capitalism, finally realized that statistics are a lie; they have smartphones and designer underwear in their stores now, but they can't afford food or utility bills, so they are completely done with the promises and fairy tales.

Would any of you actually fight tomorrow for Biden and Pelosi and foreign corporations and big media conglomerates? Does milk and honey flow through your streets, or is an American wallet actually in an American pocket? Because mine certainly isn't.

Who owns the food industry, the breweries, the banks...? Who owns the telecommunications... who owns the massive conglomerates? It is all identical in Ukraine; oligarchs and foreign corporations own everything, and Ukrainians have no intention of dying for their interests.

But then again, what does a guy from the rural Midwest care when there is plenty of whiskey at the end of the day?
They'll be fine.
Please, tone down the alcohol consumption a bit.🤣

Besides, the Russian leader won't send Russians to die when his Kadyrovites... Cossacks... are begging him on their knees to let them off the leash.
A column of 70,000 Chechens was mobilized in 24 hours and they are currently heading to Donetsk; in 24 hours they will be in Kyiv—it’s just like how tourists in BMWs and Mercedes drive to Kyiv. If the conflict ends before they arrive, they'll just cry millions of tears because they failed to become men, so we might need to build a dam to prevent the flooding.

I suggest that the feminists, the activists, the LGBT associations, and the trans rights fighters... the democracy activists... should all pick up weapons now and go face the music. If they lack the courage, they could at least adopt the Ukrainian refugees they spent years encouraging to mess with Russia and promising they would defend them; oh wait, those were just false... empty promises, promises made to fools. The main thing was that they collected the paychecks and bonuses from UK, US, and EU funds, while the moronic-idiotic-naive-gullible... well, whoever, take the money and run.,
Let the Ukrainians fend for themselves now, after we spent years egging them on to lash out at Russia and bomb them daily for eight years, while arming, training, and coordinating them... it all seems quite revolting to me... 🤮🤮 truly disgusting... it makes me sick.

Where are the British now, stuck in a hole along with those "extremely special" individuals?

That is exactly how we will be defended tomorrow too, and then some Americans will whine about why we don't have weapons... or why we don't have aircraft... we don't need any of that; our "allies" will defend us just like they did in the 90s—they will defend us with sanctions on weaponry, just like they are doing to the Ukrainians now, with Sweden sending helmets. I might actually lose my lunch in those helmets.

Everything is standing, but nobody called Putin to come "liberate" them.
He invited himself.

And things can always get worse... Ukrainians are Hollywood compared to the alternative Putin is offering... I think that's obvious to everyone.

Adam Harris said:What kind of courage is it when a nation of 40 million sees combat reaching the outskirts of Kyiv by the second day?

They are manipulating poor young Americans with talk of joining Europe, but their reality will be much bleaker than life in the States—women working in brothels and men serving tables in Stuttgart.

Luckily, all those Russian women have PhDs.

If the world isn't going to war against Russian fascists yet, we should at least deal with the traitors at home. People like you should be identified and locked up.

gentlemoose57 said:Apparently, some of them even surrendered because they were never told they’d be sent to fight in Ukraine in the first place.

I honestly wonder what goes through those kids' heads.

A Russian soldier gets paid maybe $500... and these kids have smartphones, they read the news...

They probably get sent off with some bullshit promise about taking a quick stroll to Kyiv, only to end up stuck in guerrilla warfare as nothing more than cannon fodder.

Things aren't looking great for Ukraine, but they're showing insane courage... Russians are dying for a few hundred bucks, while Ukrainians are fighting for freedom and ideals. The motivation isn't even in the same league.

Glory to Ukraine

Facts. He showed he's got guts bigger than the city itself.

Zelenskyy and Boris Johnson are basically the only two leaders on the planet actually stepping up to the plate here.
