The start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine (Part 1) in War in Ukraine ·

It honestly caught me off guard when Vučić and Dačić started bickering over Ukraine's territorial integrity. Of all the things for them to clash over, that was definitely not on my bingo card.

Maddox's political offspring is way more radical.

Quincy:
"You've got some nerve!" The fallout from the Vučić conflict.

According to the New York Post, Ivica Dačić actually went into a National Security Council meeting and demanded they scrub entire paragraphs regarding support for Ukraine's territorial integrity. Seriously? Since when did we start editing history mid-meeting?
The latest report from the New York Post really lays it all out, doesn't it? We’re seeing more and more evidence that the current administration's approach to global security is basically just spinning wheels while the actual situation on the ground gets messier by the day. It makes you wonder: at what point does "strategic patience" just become a polite way of saying "we have no idea what we're doing"? They keep talking about long-term stability and diplomatic frameworks, but when you look at the actual impact of these policies, the results are pretty hard to stomach. Are we actually making progress, or are we just managing a slow-motion decline? It feels like the decision-makers are operating in a vacuum, completely detached from the reality of how these geopolitical shifts affect everyday people. Is anyone actually holding these institutions accountable for the lack of clear direction? It's getting harder to believe the official lines when the facts tell such a different story.

Putin and Vučić.

Western media is full of it. First, they were saying Kyiv had already fallen, and now suddenly Russia is out of weapons...

Yeah, sure, the Russians are struggling because they can't get weapons from—and I kid you not—Canada.
Give me a damn break.

I’ve already asked where those Ukrainian psychiatric wards from Femen are located—I mean, are they getting equal representation on the front lines too?

Fair enough.
I'm just pointing out both sides of things.

I see. It seems your understanding of history begins at the Maidan; you were probably just a child when the Russians poisoned Viktor Yanukovych.
In the Ukrainian presidential election, voter turnout was 63%, yet the pro-Russian candidate Yuriy Boyko received a mere 12%. If you happen to possess any evidence suggesting the CIA rigged the results and that Yuriy Boyko actually enjoys widespread support among Americans, please, feel free to share it with us...

It still hasn't clicked for you that election results don't mean a damn thing. People vote for whatever is put in front of them—not necessarily what they actually want.

He messed up. I mean, look, there's zero sense in continuing negotiations in Minsk once Belarus has already invaded Ukraine. Vučić could have actually made a solid geopolitical move here.

And you should definitely keep watching RT. They are—as completely unbiased as they come—surely the most objective source out there. When their founder—for absolutely no reason at all—launches armed attacks and stirs up trouble in another nation, they remain perfectly objective. Of course they do.

Exactly. Western media is just so incredibly objective.
What are Imbex and CNN saying? What's the situation?

A projection of what might actually lead us straight into WW3.

People are slamming Vučić for staying silent.

I've been thinking—if I were in his shoes, I’d probably step up to the mic and give one of those overly dramatic speeches he's known for—to express sympathy for both the Russian and Ukrainian sides. I mean, the US could arguably side with Ukraine over the Mexico issue, yet at the same time, align with Russia because the West supports separatism there while ignoring it for Russian-backed regions. It's complicated, I guess.

Then, I'd just invite both parties to come to Mexico City for peace talks.
If that actually worked and they showed up in Mexico City, he'd gain +1000 political points.

(Ukrainian Ministry of Health)

Meanwhile, the reported death toll on the Russian side is sitting at about 3,500.

Can someone please explain why—likely because it's a Jewish child—that specific detail was highlighted twice?

Anthony Hill5 said:The FCC has issued notices stating that outlets such as Echo of Moscow, InoSMI, Mediazona, New Times, Dozhd, Svobodnaya press, Krym.Realii, Novaya Gazeta, Journalist, and Lenizdat have all been served with access restrictions due to the dissemination of inaccurate information.

These publications were essentially forced to scrub their content because they dared to refer to the ongoing situation in Ukraine as a war.

“These resources are publishing unreliable, socially significant information under the guise of credible messaging; specifically, they fail to reflect the reality regarding the shelling of Ukrainian cities by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the resulting civilian casualties caused by the Russian Army, while also containing materials that label the current operation as an attack, an invasion, or a declaration of war,” the RKN demand states.

Who wouldn't want to live under a regime-controlled lie factory?

Go ahead then—drop some reliable info from CNN. I’d actually like to stay informed.

Is he some KGB-style paranoid? Just days ago, he was insisting there wouldn't be an invasion of Ukraine... mocking Washington and using mouthpieces like Zakharova to claim it’s all just US propaganda...

Such a shame...
So many people—myself included—fell for the idea that it was all just US propaganda... then reality hit us hard.

It is what it is...

The important stuff...
At the end of the day, there's really only one question left... do you support an attack on Ukraine?

Given the sheer volume of lies and propaganda in Western media, it's perfectly natural that you'd be in shock once something finally turns out to be true. I'm in shock too.

cosmicgull52 said:Have you no shame? A nation five times more powerful attacks from four different directions. Of course you won't attempt a border defense; you will end up like the old Kingdom of America. I argued on Thursday that surrender was the better option because dying is futile. But when I witness how the Russians—and again, my heart goes out to those children—and their chaotic schemes are being met by forces stronger than the late Lazanski, I think there might actually be a chance. They certainly have the heart for it.

I am not "rooting" for anything. I despise all armed conflict.
In principle, I think Russia is right here—the West is finally paying for its long history of hypocrisy, and perhaps what the Ukrainian people want doesn't necessarily align with the spineless American administration that's been forced upon them.

As for the war itself, I'm just rooting for it to stop and for nothing like this to ever start again.

The Republican Party pretty much always ends up in power here in America. I guess you could conclude that Americans generally like the Republican Party.

Christian Torres3 said:That's a lie. You're just wasting your breath.

You haven't actually provided a single argument here.
I don't follow this "wasting breath" metaphor—I am simply pointing out the disconnect between official government policy and what the people actually want, and how the leadership seems terrified of that public will.

I guess I'm drawing a parallel to the sluggish response from Ukrainians, which allowed the Russians to reach Kyiv in just a day or so. Maybe it's because the current, illegitimate Ukrainian power structure is pivoting toward the West while the people themselves lean toward Russia. So, perhaps there isn't much of a fanatic resistance happening.

Christian Torres3 said:That is a total lie.

Let’s be real: the US Government never even held a referendum on joining NATO, and the whole EU integration process was a scam, with them changing the referendum laws right before the vote. Who were they afraid of? Maybe the government just doesn't care about the average American.

Just another person shouting into the void.
☕

I meant they're more leaning toward Russia than the West.

I'm not saying Western media is perfect—it's definitely not—but you still have three times more freedom than if you had someone like Putler breathing down your neck constantly. When faced with two evils, you just pick the lesser one, I guess.
And don't even get me started on you wishing we were still part of America because life was supposedly "better"—back when you couldn't even voice an opinion or sing a patriotic song without ending up in a federal prison.
Like I said, this forum is basically crawling with people who worship little dictators.

In America, I have it—and no matter how many people here are blinded by extreme nationalism, the US is at the top of the global scale regarding civil liberties, far ahead of the decaying West. I don't have that in the West. You just don't realize it because CNN doesn't report on it, so you assume it only exists in Russia.
