I feel like every single offseason, the conversation shifts from "who is actually talented" to "how do we force these two superstars to fit together?" It’s become such a predictable cycle. We see a roster with a clear identity, and then the rumors start swirling about adding one massive, legendary name to fix everything.
In my experience watching various teams over the years, these "superteam" experiments are a total gamble. You can have all the talent in the world, but if the playstyles clash or the ego management goes south, you just end up with a bunch of expensive players standing around while the chemistry evaporates. I’ve always been more of a fan of building through depth and cohesive systems rather than just chasing the biggest star available.
It makes me wonder if we overvalue the "savior" narrative. Is it actually better to grab a legend and hope for the best, or is the pursuit of the perfect fit actually what ruins a team's long-term stability?
Do you guys think a superstar can actually fix a systemic issue, or do they just complicate it?
