Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion]
in Women's Health ·
So, I’ve got a bit of an issue... though I guess calling it a "problem" might be a stretch...
I switched over to Yasmin on Monday, and by Tuesday, I started taking Triquilar. According to the instructions—and my doctor confirmed this—there isn't supposed to be a seven-day break; you just jump straight into the new pack.
Here’s the catch: my doctor told me that because of the switch to these new pills, I wouldn't have a period this month. Well, surprise, surprise—mine showed up yesterday.
It’s not exactly a heavy flow, but let's call it what it is: a period.
I’m sitting here wondering if this happened because the hormone levels in Yasmin and Triquilar aren't quite identical.
Basically, I was promised no period this month, yet here we are. It didn't hit on the usual day I'd expect based on when I was on Yasmin, but it did show up exactly one day late.
I’m curious if anyone else has dealt with this. Should I actually be worried about having a period that, according to my doctor, shouldn't technically be happening? Today is Saturday, and I can't exactly call the clinic right now, so I'm stuck waiting until Monday.
Thanks! 😢
