Amen

Does anyone happen to know, off the top of my head, if the lap time Ricc just clocked is actually faster than what we were seeing back during the V8 engine era in 2012 and 2013?...

LET'S GET ITTTTTTTTTTTT👏

If everything goes according to plan tomorrow, we're looking at a win. A victory for the absolute best driver on the grid today🙂

Chuck, then what does that make Alonso? 🙂

Did Kimi get hit with a five-place grid penalty because of a gearbox change? Or did I mishear that part...

mellowtiger83 said:Exactly. Let's just fast-forward to the end of the season and look at the standings; we might find that Eddie Irvine completely outclassed Michael Schumacher one year while driving the exact same car. That should give you plenty to think about regarding your logic on points and championship rankings.

I believe a single example is more than enough to make the point. Therefore, I—along with all the other "idiot" forum members—will conclude that Schumacher was simply the weaker driver and got thoroughly beaten.

Why do you feel the need to resort to insults just because I disagree with you?
Do you honestly think that will "strengthen" your "argument"?

mellowtiger83 said:You missed my point. Just because someone ends up with more points doesn't necessarily mean they're the superior driver; sometimes, it's just how the luck of the draw falls. Take this year's situation with Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, or Kimi Räikkönen versus Sebastian Vettel—it's really not that complicated to grasp. I know there are all sorts of limited perspectives out there, but I truly cannot fathom why this is so difficult to understand.

And so, you feel the sudden urge to get a little condescending? 🙂

First off, maybe brush up on your basic grammar. You don't write "cannot" as one word in that context; it's two separate words. It's a simple negation, you know... 🙂

Secondly, you didn't misunderstand me. At the end of the day, at the end of the month, or at the end of the season, nothing actually matters except the points earned... that's the only thing that gets recorded in history, while everything else is just noise... who cares about the opinion of some random forum user, journalist, or whoever else...
but then again, as you said, "there are all sorts of limited people" out there... 🙂
Miami Grand Prix - May 29, 2016 in Formula 1 ·
What is even the point of a points system if it doesn't actually matter and everyone already knows who the superior driver is? 🙂
I honestly think we should just switch to a public voting system like they have at the Eurovision Song Contest; forget the points altogether... 🙂

Red Bull might actually snatch pole position, while the Ferkan crew settles for somewhere around fifth or sixth...

Tibi isn't pulling your leg, it was actually Sebastian Vettel... he really did say that. 🙂

Jerry Moore61 said:Poor McLaren is complaining. They weren't the ones to bring this up initially, so now they're just feeling guilty about it.

That isn't actually against the rules. And honestly, those tire pressure regulations are total garbage anyway.

It's a liability issue, as they say... 🙂
If the governing body lets them do whatever they want, then tires will inevitably blow out sometimes, creating a massive safety risk... and then someone sues... 🙂

From what I've read, NASCAR handles this by drilling a tiny little hole in the tires, so the pressure slowly bleeds off throughout the race...

Now, apparently, teams will be required to hand over all their tire telemetry... I just don't see how they plan to penalize anyone who doesn't comply, especially once the race is already over and the winners have been declared... 🙂

There are whispers going around about some clever maneuvering regarding tire pressure involving one top-tier team and one mid-field team (and no, it isn't Ferrari or McLaren 😬 ).

Well, it has been common knowledge for a while that we're talking about RB and Toro Rosso...
Apparently, they found a way to heat up the rim edges just before the measurements are taken, which allows them to hit that sweet spot of legal pressure. Then, once the race actually starts, that pressure drops slightly, giving them a performance edge...
It seems McLaren has already voiced their concerns and requested official "guidance" from the stewards, because technically, these guys (RB and Toro Rosso) aren't actually breaking any rules—they've just found a very clever way to skirt around them...
