I figured these would be everywhere, but I’ve checked a few local bookstores and they don't have them. Honestly, the staff just stared at me blankly (maybe because of my overly detailed description?), so I'm guessing they aren't exactly the target demographic there. Google keeps throwing nothing but wholesale distributors at me, Staples or Office Depot are way too far out of the way just to check stock, and nobody is responding to my emails... 😢

If anyone actually knows where I can find one, please let me know! 🙏

Edit: And roughly how much should I expect to pay? 😬

You can probably find one at Target or Walmart—usually in the office or school supply aisle.
Maybe even at Office Depot

Try a local Staples
or maybe a big bookstore like Barnes & Noble

Just certain places, I guess.

Price-wise—they go from maybe $5 for a cheap plastic one that handles up to 10 sheets (which usually lasts years...) to more expensive ones. They even have guides to make it easier, like choosing between standard three-hole or just two holes... 😉

Places like Staples sometimes have some pretty odd equipment—so maybe double-check that whatever you pick actually has the spacing you need, since clerks don't always realize that not all binders are the same.😉
I stumbled upon this cool little shop yesterday—Kronos over on Trsteno Street in downtown, www.kronos.hr
so, maybe check if they have anything you're looking for? 😉
If not, I guess it might still be worth walking over there—the guys are honestly really nice, so they might have an idea of where else you could find something like that...

1. A Rubik's Cube

2. A tiny chess set (like, really small—pocket-sized, maybe 4x4 inches) just a cheap plastic one, I guess.

🙂

For the chess set, maybe check out some bookstores—smaller shops might have better prices—or even those little dollar stores or maybe a Chinatown shop... something like that.

Back in the day, those cubes were everywhere—they even had magnetic ones once... I think around $3.25... I actually have a couple lying around somewhere, though I haven't a clue where they went. I just remember everyone was getting them back then... probably from some cheap little shop or something.
@redridge:
Maybe try looking around on Savska—somewhere just north of the El Paso intersection, on the west side, right before you hit that T-Mobile tower. I can't quite recall the shop's name, but they have a massive display of balloons in the window, so maybe ask if they have any black ones? Not sure about the prices, though.

I was actually over at the Importanne Gallery looking for colorful ones, but all they had in black were those printed ones—and if I remember right, they weren't exactly cheap. You could still check there, though; it's tucked away in a basement somewhere, so you might have to wander around a bit... I can't really remember if it was on the north or south side.

@silenttrucker67: I mean, you probably won't make anything from it—we don't really have that kind of system set up here yet, as far as I know... stuff usually just gets bought abroad and resold over here.
If the stuff is actually trash—maybe you could donate it to an animal shelter? I guess little dogs and cats always need bedding or something.
Now, if it’s in great shape, or brand new/never worn, or even just gently used—you might want to try some local classified sites. There's already a clothing thread here, and maybe check if you're allowed to start a 'giving away' thread too—because honestly, there are people on this forum who really value any scrap of clothing that's still in good condition...

@gentlehound9: It depends on what size you're looking for, but I once picked up a half-liter glass bottle at Walmart—though I'm not sure if they even carry those anymore.
If you're in a big city like Chicago, you could try checking out a Target—maybe the kitchenware section? I think it's on the second floor, north side; or maybe near the downtown area, I can't quite remember.
Or maybe look around that old shopping street near the central plaza—there's a general store over there that carries all sorts of things, and I think there are a couple of shops nearby that stock glass bottles... they might even have mugs, maybe on the corner near the pharmacy.

Maybe check out a Walmart or a Target—I'd guess places like that might carry some
we definitely have some here, though I suspect they aren't exactly cheap

I'm not sure if you caught the thread, but magnesium keeps coming up quite a bit—I'd say give it a shot.
Natural Wealth makes a decent magnesium supplement that you can just take with water or milk (I've found that if you mix it with juices containing citric acid, it starts breaking down way too fast—kind of turns into this nasty little mush). Maybe another brand carries something similar, I haven't really looked around.

But, you probably need to start taking it about 7 to 10 days before your period is due. And, well, you have to be consistent about it—every single day.

If the hormone therapy alone isn't doing the trick—maybe try combining them.

Anyway—good luck with the magnesium, maybe it’ll do the trick 🙂 you might want to look into some other options too...

But honestly, given what you're dealing with, I’d definitely suggest getting a proper checkup—not just one of those "hop on the table, spread your legs, you're fine" kind of visits...

Just please don't let it hurt too much 🙂

What if you just went to see a different OB-GYN? You know, just to get some standard tests done and everything...
Going to the ER every single month for five days straight isn't really a solution, I guess. :/

I mean, maybe look into the risks and benefits... there’s contraception, hormone therapy—and honestly, if things are really bad, I don't see why doctors wouldn't suggest surgery if they're dealing with serious issues. You shouldn't have to spend your whole life in pain until menopause, right? You need to be able to function normally...

The thing is—you might actually have an underlying issue, like PCOS or something else entirely. Just go get checked out... and hey, don't be afraid to switch doctors until someone actually figures out what's going on.
Don't just live with the pain—pain isn't "normal," and it definitely shouldn't be something we just accept. 😁
And seriously, going in for injections every month is definitely NOT the answer!

Kevin Bailey2 said:I honestly don't think I'll ever wrap my head around how little self-respect a woman needs to have to actually take these pills.

And what about the level of self-respect a guy would need to undergo castration just so she wouldn't have to deal with the pills... maybe?

I mean, I guess castration might be the only thing for men that's even remotely comparable in terms of effectiveness—since let's face it, condoms or pulling out aren't exactly foolproof, mostly because half the people out there don't even know how to use a condom properly from the jump.

If you're a man—you'd probably consider it for someone you love, right?
If you're a woman—you'd look for a partner willing to go through that for you, wouldn't you?

Probably not, huh?
So, maybe you should stick to posting your "wisdom" on a thread dedicated to this, thanks anyway.

(Just a side note—this discussion is focused on birth control, not any other side effects, I guess. 😉 )
