I’d honestly suggest just rewatching Ring and The Ring: Final Chapter. I guarantee you'll catch details you missed before because that's how they're built. Even the book isn't entirely clear on it—it's basically about supernatural psychic abilities manifesting in different ways. But that's not telling you much. Just pay closer attention to how the characters act in the original and the sequel; the second one is definitely weaker, but it's still solid work.
As for those cheap remakes and copy-paste "American" versions? I don't watch them, and I certainly don't comment on them.

And Oldboy took things several steps further. 😁
But I’m definitely picking Ezel as the best version—it actually beats the book. 😁
She had a much more interesting look before; she’s lost something lately... though she’s still nowhere near the top of my list of favorite actresses...
I do appreciate how you handled her review, though. I really hope you're a fan of actresses like Naomi Watts, Laura Harring, Michelle Williams, or Jennifer Connelly—women who bring both genuine talent and beauty to the screen... and that I can expect similar deep dives on them 🙂
It’s not that Dakota Fanning isn't talented, I just personally don't care for her...
Alright, so is there going to be an open thread for every single movie that airs on TV? 😲
If things keep moving at this rate, this forum is going to fall apart in three months. 😂
After thinking it over, I'm going with Halloween and Michael Myers. He’s still easily the most intriguing one for me, by far...

I'm not about to let anyone pull the wool over my eyes twice.
Heh, sounds exactly like my situation. 🙂
I only hopped on this thread to see if I was the only person in America who thought this movie was neither good nor funny, and I’m pleasantly surprised to find I’m not alone. 🙂
That said, I can't really be objective since I honestly hate the comedy genre, except for How High and Half Baked, which were the only ones that actually kept me laughing through the whole thing. 🙂
I honestly thought vampires just had a demon where their junk should be; I never realized it was actually a castration scar 😲
Clearly you haven't spent much time with vampires. Not my cup of tea...

One of those rare movie moments where I actually had to blink... gross.
I watched "this" about two months ago...
Americans have truly outdone themselves—they literally ripped off a phenomenal movie and still managed to deliver absolutely nothing.
Let Me In isn't even close to the original.
The scenes are overproduced compared to the original, which was actually great. The little vampire isn't even a brunette—she’s either blonde or has brown hair, I can't remember—so that's just a miss. Plus, instead of being set in Sweden like it should be, it feels like they shot the whole thing in some middle-of-nowhere part of Alaska.
Honestly, if you haven't seen Let the Right One in, you're going to love it. Everyone else will know exactly what I mean.
They should have cast that actress from Let the Right One in or Cursed to play the vampire; she would've been a much better fit.
I have nothing against the kid's acting, but in my opinion, she just doesn't have the look for a role like this.
Three scenes that actually gave me the chills and left me feeling physically uneasy:
1. The final scene from Shutter
2. The final scene from The Ring
The Ring spoiler alert!
3. Ju-on: The Curse (2000) - Toshiev's old man kills the teacher's wife, rips the fetus out of her womb, stuffs it in a bag, and then slams it against walls and kicks it across the floor🙂
And one scene that caught me completely off guard and genuinely stressed me out:
Ju-on: The Grudge 2 - Some guy is driving his car, looks down toward the pedals, and sees who you think he'll see🙂
Spoiler end!
