Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Carl Thompson6 said:So, I’ve been on Lyndinette low-dose birth control pills for about two months now. I had my usual seven-day break during my period and was supposed to start the next pack yesterday, but I totally blanked and missed 😵. I started taking them again today, so basically, I'm just one day late starting this new "round"... Can my hormones get all wonky because of that? And is it fine that I just jumped back in today, or should I have taken a full month off or something? Also, I’ve noticed my skin hasn't improved at all since I started these—honestly, it's actually looking worse... when I was on Yasmin, my skin was absolutely flawless 🤷. I'm thinking about switching to something else, maybe Yaz, but I'm low-key terrified of gaining weight... Plus, doctors told me to avoid high-dose pills because I have a fibroid
.

I'm currently on Novynette, and I actually found that my skin cleared up quite nicely while taking it. It seems to have a pretty positive effect on your complexion, so you should definitely check in with your gynecologist to see if they'd recommend those for you.

I have a problem/question.
Last month, my gynecologist wrote me a prescription for Logest because I wanted to start on birth control pills.
After taking them for about a week, I started having stomach pains and cramps. I thought it might be some kind of inflammation, so I went to see a different gynecologist since mine wasn't available. He did an ultrasound, and everything looked fine.
I thought maybe it was something with my bladder, so I went for tests, but those also came back normal.
The pain lasted until I finished the entire pack and got my period.

I started the second pack ten days ago, but the pain returned a couple of days ago. I’ve stopped taking them for now. I don't have an appointment with my gynecologist until Wednesday, so I wanted to ask for your opinions—has anyone else dealt with similar issues?

Hmm... honestly, it sounds like you're probably just having a bad reaction to that specific brand. You might want to try a different option. Personally, I take Novynette and they work wonders for me; my doctor suggested them specifically because they tend to be very easy on the system.🙂

I guess I just want to be prepared and stay protected, you know? I wanted to see if any of you have experience with pills in general? Also, has anyone here heard of Novynette? I heard they might be a newer option on the market, so I was wondering if anyone actually uses them and what they think?

I’m currently using Novynette myself, and honestly, they work perfectly for protection and have been wonderful for me. I haven't dealt with any side effects at all, so I can sincerely say I’m quite satisfied with them. When you eventually make that appointment with your doctor, I would definitely suggest bringing them up; doctors generally appreciate it when patients take the initiative to express which specific brands they are interested in trying. If he thinks they are a good fit for your health profile, he should be able to write you that prescription.😉div>
