Thanks a million :*

analoggull84 said:Sorry for just jumping right into this thread, but I actually have a question—well, more like a bit of a dilemma 🙄I’m 17, and my boyfriend and I have been together for about a year now, so we’re planning on starting having sex. Naturally, we want to be responsible and use both birth control pills and condoms, but I know you need a prescription from a gynecologist for the pills, right? The thing is, I can’t really talk to my mom about this because we aren't exactly close, and there are a few other unimportant reasons why it would be awkward. So, can I just go to the doctor by myself, and will this show up on my medical records in a way that my mom could find out?

I'm the same age as you—I picked my own doctor, I'm on the pill, and I got my own prescription. My mom doesn't know a thing, so you really don't need her permission.
I don't bother with condoms while on the pill—that's literally why I started taking them, to skip the condom hassle. Pills are more reliable than condoms anyway; I think they're about 99.7% effective, so there's no reason to worry. Using both seems redundant.
My boyfriend finishes inside me and nothing happens—nothing at all, and likely nothing ever will.🙂
There’s no magic fix—I’m back again, drowning in Lyndinette 20 questions. I’ve been doing a 7-day cycle followed by an 8-day break, or maybe it was 7? If my last pill was this past Friday, should I be restarting next Friday or Saturday? The instructions are uselessly vague—they just say: "Always start the pills from a new pack on the same day of the week."
Now I’m stuck wondering what that actually implies—do they mean if I finished on a Friday, I restart on a Friday, or are they talking about picking the same calendar date every month after the break? Help.
granitepilot5 said:Has anyone else ever experienced a slight rise in body temperature after starting birth control? I’ve been taking Logest, and I noticed—roughly around the same time I started the regimen—that my temperature has been hovering around 74.5°F. It isn't anything extreme, and I don't feel particularly under the weather, but it is enough to make me a bit uneasy... The package insert doesn't mention elevated temperature as a potential side effect, so perhaps there isn't even a connection to the pills, but I did start tracking my temperature more consistently over the last few months, and during my break, it does dip back down to just under 98.6°F.
I went ahead and had some blood work done, and everything came back perfectly normal.

You caught a cold—that’s it. Nothing to do with the pills. xD
urbanpilot said:So what exactly is the problem here? You got your period during a break, which is totally normal. Nothing weird about it. Every woman's body works differently.
If my flow is light, it doesn't mean yours will be.
Besides, I still have quite a heavy flow even though I'm on the pill.

I assume you aren't taking them just to try and reduce the amount you bleed, right? 🙂

No, I’m taking them strictly for contraception—but every label out there claims they reduce cramps and heavy bleeding, so I’m asking. My flow has never been this heavy before.
And the stabbing pains haven't stopped either... even after the second pack.
Help—this happened fast and now I really need some advice!!!!
I took my 20th and 21st Lyndinette pills, and now—after just a two-day break—my period has arrived. It started first thing this morning, and it isn’t just a light flow; it’s incredibly heavy. I’ve never had a period like this before—it’s usually quite light, so why the sudden change? Aren't these pills supposed to make the bleeding lighter??
Maybe it's because I have a cold, though I doubt that's the cause—besides, I don't even think this is a "real" period, just the uterine lining shedding. And honestly, I've dealt with a hundred colds before and my cycle was always totally normal... please help :S

So I started taking Lindynette 20—well, halfway through the pill—and now I’ve got this brownish discharge... is that actually normal? It’s been going on for a few days now. Had my period for five days, then nothing for five days, and now I’m on day three or four of this spotting... just wondering if anyone else deals with this.

So, I'm hitting my eleventh pill today—and for the last few days, there’s been this light brown discharge going on. They tell me it’s totally normal when you're starting the first pack... just how it goes, I guess.

It’s actually normal for the FIRST 3 PACKS—look, I finished my second pack and I’m still dealing with that discharge. I called my OB-GYN and they told me if it doesn't stop by the end of the THIRD pack, then there might be an actual issue... it's because these are low-dose pills... do a little Googling...
Nicholas Green41 said:So, I’ve run into a bit of a situation and I’m curious what you guys suggest, or if anyone else has dealt with this, especially since my gynecologist is already out for the day.

Basically, my cycles are super irregular—sometimes the bleeding is heavy, other times there’s almost nothing at all and days just pass by...
Also, my skin has been clearing up quite a bit lately.
Because of that, my doctor prescribed Diane and told me to start taking it as soon as my first period hits. She said to kick things off once I notice even a little spotting. Usually, for me, I get some weird discharge a day or two before the actual flow starts.
Well, the day before yesterday, I noticed some light spotting and thought, "Okay, here comes my period," since my last one was back at the end of December, so I went ahead and took the pill. But then yesterday and today, the spotting completely stopped—no blood, no mucus, nothing. So now I’m wondering: should I just keep taking the pills, or can I sort of quietly skip this round and just restart when my "real" period actually shows up? And honestly, what happens if I just stop taking them mid-stream?

Thanks in advance,
Best, 🙂

That was your period—but the pill likely shut it down. Same thing happened to me, so I gave my doctor a call. It’s possible for this to happen, don't sweat it.
Don't you dare stop taking them; just keep going.🙂
urbanpilot said:God, if my boobs grow any more, I won’t even be able to find a bra that fits anywhere in the States.😢

Anyway, is anyone else here dealing with increased hair growth?🤣
I swear, I'm growing hair like crazy—underarms, legs, eyebrows, I've even started getting fuzz on my face.
😢
I mean, I've always shaved my legs, pits, and bikini area in the shower (well, almost every other day), but now it's getting ridiculous. For example, I'll shave my armpits today and by tomorrow afternoon they already feel coarse under my hand.
🙂

Since switching to Lyndinette 20, my hair growth has slowed down significantly—meaning I don't have to shave my legs every week and a half anymore.
Frank Gonzalez65 said:I’ve got these pains in my ribs too—like this sharp, stinging sensation deep inside, somewhere behind the ribcage... I can't even tell you where it's coming from, really. One minute it feels like it's in the front, then it shifts behind. It’s awful. Usually, I get a quick jab like this a few times a year and that's it, but now it starts up every single afternoon. Mornings are fine, but by the time I'm heading to bed, it's constantly stabbing at me. I’ve been taking Lindynette; I finished two boxes and I'm actually on a break right now because of my cycle. Even with the break, the stinging won't quit.
Heading to my primary care doctor tomorrow. I need to ask her what might be causing this. Maybe I should redo my liver function tests, even though they were perfectly normal back in February. 🤷

I'm actually drinking this, Lyndinette—honestly, I can't believe it...
Is it just me, or did you get a sudden upgrade—and honestly, are you drinking twenty shots or thirty?
I’m switching to 30—I’ve been on 20 for about two and a half months now—and this spotting just won't quit... it's relentless.
Is your libido finally taking a permanent vacation? — honestly, can't say I blame you.
I have to ask—because curiosity is a habit I can't quite shake—what's actually on your mind?
My coagulation levels came back fine—same goes for the KKS and my liver panels. Everything seems to be holding steady for now.

Look, can someone weigh in on chest pains? What kind of sensations are we talking about here? At first, it felt like the usual pre-period discomfort—but now, it’s this sharp, needle-like stinging. I can’t quite put it into words—just this constant, mild stabbing sensation... what does that actually mean?
i btw my breasts have gotten larger..
vividsailor7 said:Are you certain it’s a kidney infection? Do you have any actual lab results or a formal diagnosis? Your red blood cell count looks fine.

I don't have them handy right now—a year ago I dealt with an ovarian infection and the start of a right kidney issue, which antibiotics cleared up—but the frequent urination is back.
I'm not sure if they're normal; I noticed they're low, so...
vividsailor7 said:For macrocytic anemia, the MCV should be over 100—unless those red blood cells are just barely low, in which case everything looks normal.

Thanks a lot. What’s the deal with these red blood cells, though?
I dealt with some ovarian and kidney inflammation previously—and I'm still dealing with frequent urination—could that be related?
Maria Fisher46 said:Ma'am,

I noticed you posted this question over on the Health PDF under the lab results thread. If you check the instructions in the original post for that topic, you'll find what you need—basically, we can't give a serious answer based on vague descriptions like "low" or "high." You need to list your actual results alongside the reference ranges. Also, please include any other diagnoses, symptoms (like heavy periods), and your approximate age, as requested in the guidelines.

Just looking at this—and I'm being cautious here—it could potentially be anemia, though we'd really need to see the specific red blood cell counts and hemoglobin levels to be sure. As for those slightly low liver enzymes (ALT, AST), they usually don't mean much clinically.

I felt I had to ask for advice because I went to my primary care doctor for blood work—my gynecologist didn't bother ordering any tests before putting me on the pill.
The first number is my result, and the last two are the reference values.
RBC: 3.90 ---- 4.07-5.42
Hemoglobin: 122 ---118-149
Hematocrit --- 0.376 --- 0.354-0-450

MCHC 324 --- 304-346
Platelets: 206---178-420
WBC: 7.2 -- 4.4-11.6

Iron: 11.1 --- 6-31
UIBC: 60.2--- 31-72

AST: 18 -- 14-32
ALT: 10 --- 10-29
GGT: 14 --- 10-24

Prothrombin Time - INR: 1.02
My apologies—I was in quite a rush. I'm 17, and I ended up getting these labs done through my primary care physician because my gynecologist is frankly irresponsible—he didn't bother with any exams or even ordering blood work before suggesting I start birth control.
The first number represents my actual results, while the final two are the reference ranges.

So, I’m looking for some guidance here. I just had bloodwork done at my primary care physician's office—full panel, liver enzymes, the whole nine yards—but I have to wait a week to actually sit down and talk to the doctor about it. In the meantime, I’m trying to decipher the results myself to see if continuing my birth control pills is actually safe.
My red blood cell count is low—well, lower than it should be. What am I looking at there? My MCV is also high, exceeding the normal range. MCH and MCHC are sitting right on the upper limit, essentially elevated too... what does that signify? :S
My ALT is low—I assume that’s related to coagulation issues?
Basically, what is this bloodwork telling me?

I suppose there’s nothing left to say. Maybe everything was just noise all along. kaže:
I honestly can’t quite put my finger on it. I don't even know how to describe it properly, but it feels like something is just... different inside. It's this bizarre sensation, almost as if something has detached. I can actually feel that piece of tissue moving in and out. It's definitely unusual, though maybe it isn't as terrifying as I'm making it sound. I guess my uterus just feels strange. Anyway, I've been on this medication for six weeks now—should this feeling be going away by now?
I just hope my gut doesn't get wrecked by pills like my friend's did. Everything for her just went totally sideways... I guess.🙂

I had this feeling like some kind of "needle" was pricking me down there. It wasn't exactly a pleasant sensation, I guess. 😁 It’s finally over, thank god—after a whole month. I guess you should probably call your OB-GYN and ask what the deal is if things don't clear up soon. 😉

Hmm—maybe just call it by its name if it doesn't clear the second box after the break... thanks for that. 🙂)
It’s just frustrating—I honestly have no clue how to put this into words for her, or even what I should say to her in the first place :P

I’m dealing with the same thing—having to hit the restroom more often. Since Yaz acts as a diuretic, the constant trips to the bathroom are unavoidable.😁

When I first started the pill, things felt… off during intimacy—sort of a sharp, stinging sensation down there. After the first few weeks, though, that feeling finally subsided.

Honestly, I can’t even put it into words—it’s just this bizarre, internal sensation. It feels like something has shifted inside, making everything feel different during sex—almost like I can physically sense the tissue moving in a way that isn't normal. (It’s not as traumatic as I’m making it sound, but it’s just… strange. My uterus just feels "different" internally.) :SS I’ve been on it for six weeks now—should this pass?
I just hope my digestive system doesn't go haywire like my friend's did; her gut was completely wrecked by them...🙂

Steven King9 said:I have a question regarding birth control pills and smoking.😁 I haven't been able to find anything definitive on the matter, so I was wondering if any of you might know...
To be brief, I am currently taking Lindynette 20, and I am just starting my third pack. I am curious about the effects of smoking marijuana while on these pills; I cannot find any specific information addressing this combination anywhere.🤷 I would truly appreciate some accurate information or practical advice—please, no guesswork. Thank you in advance.🙂

I'm sticking with the same routine—just some weed. Personally, I don't buy into the whole "it's bad for you" hype when it comes to hormones—after all, it’s just a plant, right? Similar to drinking chamomile tea or whatever else people use to relax. It doesn't affect your chemistry like that. The only real downside is the smoke itself—inhaling any kind of smoke isn't great for your lungs or blood clotting risks—but let's be real, unless you're lighting up dozens of joints a day, the odds are pretty slim. :P
Sometimes—just sometimes—I’ll take some chamomile along with my pills to level things out. It works, I suppose. But I should clarify: strictly occasionally. 🤣 Not that this is exactly a glowing recommendation—but please, don't go judging too harshly. 😳

Just one question—has anyone actually experienced changes to their gut health while on these pills? —just wondering if it's a common side effect.
I don't really know how else to put this—my gut basically forces me to sprint for the restroom, and then, predictably, it’s just pure chaos.
How do I fix this? — I’m certain it’s the pills, since this started the very first day I began taking them—and I’m already on my second pack.

I'm curious—has anyone else noticed their anatomy feeling different internally since starting birth control? Everything feels... off during intimacy. It’s hard to pin down—nothing specific, just a strange sensation that wasn't there before—but if you've experienced this, please let me know. Any insight would be appreciated.
