Skin issues on my hands in Health ·
urbancanyon7 said:Two years ago, I was participating in this discussion when my dermatitis flared up significantly, leaving me with painful, bleeding sores. I cut out pork and alcohol from my diet, which provided some minor relief, but there were absolutely no signs that the condition would actually clear up.

I cycled through countless creams, ointments, and oils, even trying various dietary supplements, and I spent a small fortune in the process. Everything changed about two months ago when I started using Vaseline balm. Within ten days, the irritation on my hands had completely vanished.

My hands feel normal now; there are no open wounds, and the skin is perfectly healthy. In fact, I can wash dishes without wearing gloves for the first time in many years.

I still have one dry patch on my knee, and I am unsure if that will resolve, but overall, I am incredibly satisfied with the results!

Where did you find that Vaseline balm? I would appreciate knowing the specific manufacturer, the price, and where it is available for purchase.

I am dealing with these exact same issues. 😢 My hands are extremely dry, peeling, and cracking. The right hand is noticeably worse than the left; I suspect I might be having an allergic reaction to my dish soap, or perhaps even my hand soap, since the cracking is more severe on the hand I use to hold the sponge while washing. I am also certain that general cleaning supplies are aggravating the situation. Even though I wear rubber gloves while cleaning, the moment I pull them off, my skin feels terribly parched from the contact with the latex. I suffer from chronic allergies—specifically persistent nasal congestion year-round. My doctor hasn't referred me for allergy testing yet because she believes the treatment would remain the same regardless of the results. 🙂 At the time, I didn't think to ask her specifically about my hands because I wasn't treating the issue with enough seriousness.

How exactly are those allergy tests conducted? Are they separate tests for skin conditions versus respiratory issues, or can everything be tested at once?
Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
Hello, everyone. I find myself in a bit of a dilemma and was hoping someone who has dealt with a similar situation might offer some guidance. 🙂

I have an appointment scheduled with my gynecologist, but the issue is that the day of my exam actually falls on the sixth and final day of my period. When I originally booked the appointment, I was certain I wouldn't be bleeding on that day, but I've realized that I actually will be. 🙂
I have been taking Diane 35 for about a year now. The purpose of this visit is to undergo a routine checkup—specifically an ultrasound and a Pap smear—and to discuss switching to a lower-dose pill, as I am ready to move away from Diane 35. I still have one and a half packs left. My initial thought was to simply continue the medication without taking a break, but I am concerned that even if I skip the break, my period might not show up as expected. Additionally, since I am having an ultrasound, I am worried about whether any potential issues, such as cysts, might be visible if I don't have my regular cycle this month. 🙄

Has anyone here actually cleared up their acne or body breakouts using pills? How long did it take before you saw any real progress, and how long until they were completely gone?

I have been taking Diane for about eleven months now. My skin has definitely improved—those angry, red inflammatory breakouts along my jawline have finally subsided—but it hasn't been a total transformation. I’m still dealing with daily breakouts; some clear up quickly while others seem to linger indefinitely. Even though these pills are specifically prescribed to regulate hormonal acne rather than just for contraception, I still haven't achieved perfectly clear skin. I plan to switch medications in about a month, and frankly, I can't wait to see if something else works better.🙂 😁

Lisa Myers said:It wouldn't make sense to take another one now anyway. Just take your next dose tonight at 9 PM like usual. If you're still really worried, you can always use extra protection for the next seven days.

It isn't really the upcoming days that concern me—I intend to use a condom regardless. My worry stems from yesterday, when we had unprotected intercourse and he finished inside me. Given that sperm can survive for three to four days, I wanted to be certain.🙄

Lisa Myers said:Look, don't sweat it. The rule says four hours, but I read somewhere that two hours is actually enough. That extra buffer is just there because everyone’s body works differently. You can't exactly claim the pill was fully absorbed at exactly two hours but wasn't absorbed at one hour and fifty-nine minutes, you know? It’s just a precaution. Better safe than sorry—stick to the four-hour mark.

You don't need any extra protection.

I’m currently trying to get a hold of Ginić, but she isn't responding. Anyway, I was asking a pharmacist at the local drugstore—an older woman—about these tablets, and she claimed they stay effective for the entire day. Honestly, I don't think we were on the same page. I specifically asked her how long it takes for the medication to actually absorb into the system, because my concern is that the pill won't just sit whole in my stomach for twenty-four hours. 🙄

Thank you for that advice. In that case, I won't go ahead with booking the second backup option; instead, I'm going to focus my efforts on trying to secure an appointment with a gynecologist.

I have a question for you all!
I’ve been taking Diane-35 for two months now, and yesterday I took my 14th pill at 9:00 PM. Between 1:00 AM and 2:00 AM last night, I started vomiting quite badly, and on top of that, I had diarrhea. Now I'm wondering: would that pill have been absorbed during those four hours? Should I take another one just in case it didn't go through? I went to the pharmacy, and the pharmacist told me it likely was, claiming three hours is plenty of time for absorption, but she did advise me to call my gynecologist. However, her office doesn't open until this afternoon, so I'm stuck waiting until then. Has anyone else dealt with something like this? My last sexual encounter was yesterday without any extra protection...🙄
