Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion]

Lisa Myers said:It doesn't affect anything. If it did, she would have told you to use extra protection or something similar. If you’re really worried, you can always take the pills from two blister packs back-to-back without a break. Just know that might cause some side effects, like spotting or breakthrough bleeding. You could also just use condoms for a while.
I mean, you always see these women popping up here who are terrified that protection might fail. They’d honestly rather spend days obsessing over it than just have their partner take a second to put on a condom. In most of these cases, the protection isn't even the real issue. If it were, there wouldn't be a problem in the first place.
Just a quick heads-up: that doesn't necessarily mean you're part of the problem too.
Thanks for the breakdown.
The thing is, I just like knowing all the facts. I don't really have any experience with these kinds of situations because, in all my years on the pill (7 before pregnancy and 2 after giving birth), I’ve only ever missed a dose once—and it wasn't even 12 hours later, so it was fine.
That's exactly what I was wondering—whether a condom is necessary or not—so thanks for the answer. I'll think more about the idea of stacking the packs...
