So, about two months ago, my doctor scheduled me for some allergy testing and all that other nonsense over in Des Moines—that was the earliest slot available. Today, I casually mention to my mother that I’m heading to Des Moines this Monday, and she immediately starts freaking out. She keeps insisting I don't have a referral, asking how on earth I can go without one, claiming I absolutely need a paper referral regardless of the fact that my doctor specifically booked the appointment from the clinic. She just won't let it go.
So, who's the crazy one here? Do I actually need a physical referral, or does having an e-manual referral suffice so I can just show up with my insurance card? I mean, shouldn't they already know which tests I need to get done?
