I don't even have PCOS, but this body hair is absolutely killing me—I'm hairy everywhere, it’s a nightmare. 😢 Please, I need advice. Should I just quit since they clearly aren't doing anything, or should I stick with them a bit longer? The only thing I've actually gained from them is a constant fear of blood clots. -.-
I'm in the exact same boat as you. I took them for a year before giving up and switching to Loestrin, which I used at first without any side effects or issues. With Diane, I saw absolutely zero progress regarding hair growth; all I got were the side effects (depressive episodes, zero libido, water retention, and occasional heart palpitations, etc.).
I don't have PCOS or any obvious hormonal issues either, so it leads to the conclusion NoStress mentioned—it's just genetics.
My advice is to find a routine for managing the hair as painlessly as possible and just accept it. It’s exhausting, and the insecurity can drive you crazy, but there isn't much else you can do. Switch to something lighter; there's no point in suffering through these if they aren't working. Obviously, talk to your doctor before making any changes.
