Wacom is such a money grab
in IT Support ·
I’ve been running my MacBook on Mojave, and everything was functioning in perfect, blissful harmony until this little old man of a tablet—if you can call a drawing tablet an "old man"—decided to show up and start a massive brawl with the system.
Wacom actually offers a driver for the Wacom Intuos Pro designed for Mojave, but the catch is that Mojave is acting like some high-society socialite who’s just been insulted; it keeps shrieking that I can't install the new driver without first uninstallizing the old one... and heavens above, I tried, but it seems we are dealing with a truly stubborn situation.
I’ve attempted every single thing that crossed my mind, and now I suspect I might have accidentally wiped out some essential system components in the process... I am utterly despondent.
Then, I stumbled upon a suggestion that a simple reboot might solve everything. However, since I’ve lived by a strict rule since the mid-90s that I simply do not touch the reboot button (because back then, it meant a full system reinstall), I am now in desperate need of guidance on how to proceed without wiping my entire computer back to factory settings. What on earth am I supposed to do? My only goal here is to get this tablet working. Just a side note: I have plenty of storage space, and I’ve already verified that the driver is fully compatible with my machine... I genuinely just need help, especially since I rely on this tablet to manage my carpal tunnel syndrome.
