Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·

Yoga is on the table, but do you know of anything else that actually works? Something with a bit more energy?
I’ve been feeling drawn to boxing recently. 😁
I'm really glad to hear that worked out for you.

Apparently, core exercises can make a difference, so give this a shot:
. I've seen several comments from women saying it helped ease their pain, and honestly, it did the trick for me too.

Tommy Hilfiger - 1962 (1 oz) at Walmart, $37. It’s a decent scent. 😉

I'd say just pick up something small. ☕
Sanitary pads vs. tampons: What are your favorites? in Women's Health ·
Here’s my situation: I’ve finally realized I’m allergic to sanitary pads. I’ve cycled through Victoria's Secret, Always, Stayfree, Kotex, and several cheap drugstore brands. Every single one of them leaves me itching like crazy, breaking out in bumps, and even causing swelling down there—it's honestly revolting.🙄 I can't deal with this anymore... 😢At first, I thought it was just a yeast infection, but the irritation only kicks in during my period, and this has been happening consistently for the last six months.

I usually stick to tampons, but they aren't great for sleeping or for those lighter days at the end of my cycle. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of reaction to pads? Also, does anyone know if there’s a specific brand made entirely from organic, natural materials?😕

Thanks in advance for any insight. 🙂
Missing periods: What's your experience? in Women's Health ·

The tea is just a Band-Aid. You really need to see an OB-GYN for a prescription; your situation is serious enough to warrant actual medicine.

Regarding the anorexia issue, I’d strongly suggest tackling that head-on. I get the drive to be thinner, but trust me, your health has to take center stage.

As for hormonal birth control... man, you meet a hundred women and get a hundred different stories. Personally, I don't use it and wouldn't recommend it (given my own track record of bad experiences), but since that's the reality we're dealing with, your best bet is to find a solid and responsible OB-GYN. You also need to be proactive—pay close attention to how your body reacts to the pills. For instance, if you smoke, quit; it’s just not a good idea.

Also, try sipping at least one cup of chamomile tea every day—it helps regulate your cycle. It's natural and won't hurt anything. 👍

Best of luck! 🙂

Well, I’m one of those lucky people who shares your exact fate... My periods are absolutely brutal. It wasn't always this bad; at first, there was zero pain, but ever since my first sexual encounter, things have become unbearable.😢

I started out on Celestol, but I had to ditch all forms of birth control because of my varicose veins. Let me tell you, the first period after stopping the pill was a total nightmare: cold sweats, legs giving out, having to bail on my classes at the university mid-day. On the way home, I was literally screaming in agony—it felt like someone was using a steam cleaner on my insides.

My OB-GYN prescribed Nalgesin 550mg Forte. They’re prescription-only and run about $17, but they actually do the job when the pain hits that peak level. As for herbal remedies, a great local herbalist recommended a blend of three specific plants:

Chasteberry—supposedly fixes almost any gynecological issue, lowers cyst risk, and has ZERO side effects; it even curbs the appetite, by the way.👍
Calendula—helps balance hormones and regulates your cycle.
Agrimony—relaxes smooth muscles and is usually suggested for those "growing pains."

Basically, you mix equal parts (1/3 each) of these herbs to make a tea and drink it two or three times a day. Steep two teaspoons in about 5 ounces of boiling water for 10-12 minutes. Buying all three packs cost me roughly $12, which lasts a month. Just a heads-up: you have to be consistent with the tea before you see any real results.

Hopefully, someone gives this a shot and finds some relief.

Alright, I’ll weigh in with my own experience too...
My period started when I was 11. At first, it was just once every three or four months with this horrific bleeding that dragged on for fifteen days straight—and honestly, that felt better than this current nightmare. The monthly pain is absolutely unbearable. I’ve thrown everything at it: Advil, Aleve, Motrin, Voltaren... nothing works. I can barely stand up, I’m vomiting, dealing with migraines, sweating through my clothes; the sensation in my gut is basically like someone driving a knife into me and twisting it. I’ve ended up in the ER twice. People claim that things settle down after you have sex for the first time, but for me, it actually got worse.
I have genuinely tried everything. I overhauled my diet, took up dance classes because apparently that’s supposed to help, practiced yoga religiously, drank all the herbal teas... eventually, hormone therapy became my last resort. I’m starting on birth control this month, and I am praying it blunts the edge of this pain. Because of how much this affects my work, I simply can't afford to be sidelined at home for three days every single month.
