Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·

Well, you might just end up face-planting right in the middle of the disk, much like I did 🤣—and let me tell you, it wasn't pretty! 😂

I’ve been wondering—why does the pain seem to ramp up as the years go by? Shouldn't it actually be getting better? It’s such a strange progression—during high school, I barely felt anything at all, but now that I'm navigating college life, if I don't pop four Ibuprofens in a single day, I can hardly walk... and just for the record, I don't use any kind of birth control, nor have I ever used it before.😕😕🙂

There aren't really any rules to it, right? Plus, let's be honest, even condoms aren't 100% foolproof, especially when dealing with certain things. 😉

I totally get what you're saying, but honestly, the whole thing feels pretty unfair when you look at age... I mean, why should I, at 28, have to worry about this while some 17-year-old could end up with anything from WHO-related issues to HIV? It works both ways, too. If the tests come back clear for those four, then whatever, we're good. But if you're 35? Well, then what? We'll just have to see what the doctors say, I guess. 🙂

Honestly, if you haven't had a lot of partners or sexual encounters, I don't see why getting vaccinated shouldn't be an option for you. I decided to get vaccinated when I was 22. But, again—it’s probably best to just talk to your OB-GYN and see what they recommend for your specific situation. 😉

Thanks for the info! But honestly, that's exactly my point. If I've only had sex twice in my entire life and always used protection, what does it matter that I'm 28? Plus, all my tests have come back perfectly fine...
And sorry, Sophia Wells72, but I have to disagree with the idea that HPV affects everyone equally regardless of lifestyle—I wouldn't really go that far. It's not like you catch HPV while grabbing a coffee with friends, right? 🙄

So, if my Pap smear comes back negative for Merck, I guess I won't be able to request further testing to see if it's still lingering—since everything looks clear on paper. It’s an interesting catch-22, isn't it? 🤣
And honestly, it still feels so misguided to suggest that waiting until 28 is "too late." I mean, at 28, I’ve maybe had two partners in my entire life and haven't even been exposed to the virus—whereas someone starting at 17 could have had dozens of encounters and been playing a much riskier game. It just seems illogical... but anyway, I'll go ahead and pick the brains of a few more doctors to get some clarity.

So, from what I can see, the price is sitting at $3,000. It hasn't really dropped lately, has it?😁 Does anyone know if there's an option to pay in installments?
If my doctor's tests come back clear, what other screenings would I actually need—and are they out-of-pocket expenses—if I want to get vaccinated? I'm 28 years old... does my age factor into this at all? I mean, if someone is perfectly healthy and maybe even 35, would they be barred from getting it?
