I’d suggest that as soon as you start feeling that pain coming on, you take either Advil or Tylenol PM 400 right away. They’re really great tablets... the pain just seems to vanish instantly...🙂
When I was on the pill, everything was smooth sailing, no issues at all. But now that I've stopped, my periods have become pretty painful. They usually last about four days—I bleed heavily for two, then it tapers off to just a little for the next two. However, that first day really knocks me sideways. It typically starts with this weird sensation in my stomach followed by back pain, which lingers for a few hours before the real misery sets in. This month, I actually had to get up right in the middle of lunch and crawl to the couch to curl up under a blanket. I couldn't even stand up straight... Usually, I can manage to get through it by evening if I take some Voltaren Forte (a couple of them, if needed). You definitely have to take the pills the second you feel those initial aches starting, because once the full-blown pain hits, uhhh...
