Dealing with bad cramps?
in Women's Health ·
I’m 23, and I’ve been dealing with these pains since I was about 16 or 17. For the last two or three years, I’ve been relying on Neofen Direct—the melt-in-your-mouth kind.
The thing is, I feel like they aren't working as well as they used to, even when I take two 200 mg doses. And honestly? That strawberry flavor that never bothered me before has suddenly become absolutely nauseating.
I actually have this weird phobia when it comes to swallowing pills, so having these dissolvable ones was a total lifesaver for me.
I did try switching to tea, but I just can't drink enough of it to make a difference—I'm not exactly the most disciplined person when it comes to staying hydrated.
My doctor suggested hormone therapy, but I turned it down because I don't have PCOS or endometriosis; everything else seems fine on paper.
I work out regularly and try my best to eat healthy.
But still, I end up stuck taking Neofen for about two days every single month, and I feel like a complete zombie—like I just ran a full marathon. The vomiting and digestive issues are pretty much a given at this point.
The pharmacist suggested Brufen effervescent tablets, but I’m worried I’ll just throw those up too, since the nausea is already so bad during my cycle. Some of my friends swear by them, though.
Do you think there’s a specific antispasmodic worth pairing with the Neofen?
