Dealing with bad cramps?
in Women's Health ·
If you’re looking for a natural way to deal with period cramps, try angelica tea. You need to knock back two cups back-to-back when things get bad, though it’s much better to drink it before the heavy cramping starts so you don't end up throwing up from the pain 😬. Angelica is solid for general stomach issues too.
As far as meds go, Ibuprofen 600 (the effervescent granules) works best for me—it kicks in within five minutes. 🎉
I also read some advice from a gynecologist saying that for intense cramps, you should start taking painkillers 2 or 3 days before your period actually starts. It’s been proven to work, and I know it does. Just don't overdo the dosage during those few days if you want to be kind to your liver.
On the natural side, I've noticed that staying active—even just walking more—and drinking extra water in the days leading up to my period helps significantly. It makes the PMS way milder or can even kill the symptoms entirely.
