I need some advice—my kid is 9 years old and just tested positive for strep via a rapid swab. It’s day three of this whole thing, and they've been dealing with fevers, vomiting, and diarrhea. I'm attaching the blood work that we took to the ER, but honestly, when we got there, they just asked what was wrong and told us to grab Amoxicillin (we couldn't find any, so we had to get a substitute from a different pharmacy). Aside from the fever spikes, they seem okay... but are these high leukocyte counts actually normal when you're fighting strep?

So, here's the deal—I parked on the sidewalk back on January 30th, 2008.--- The local parking authority towed the car. They actually cleared it with me later, but NOW (well over a year after the fact) a fine for $133 just showed up from the police. The notice is dated January 5th of this year... which is wild because that would mean they took two whole months just to mail a notice down the street...
It says we have to hand over the driver's info (it actually went to my dad since it was his car), pay the fine, and do it all within 8 days of getting the letter...
What do I even do? Can I push back on this, and does it matter that they're over a year late?? 🤷

Due to some stuff going on, I’m barely home—usually only after 9 PM, sometimes even later, and then I’m out the door by 8 AM. I know he really loves it when I'm actually around so we can just hang out and talk... 😢 He’s being super calm lately. I don't know if "normal" is the right word, since he's way more chill than usual, which is pretty weird because he's naturally a bit of a high-strung guy...

My dad (56) just got diagnosed with colon cancer yesterday 😢
He’s been dealing with digestive issues for years, but he just kept putting off all those tests his doctor insisted on...
The tumor is large, but there's still about 6 mm of space left for things to pass through the bowel. He had an abdominal ultrasound, and they mentioned seeing some changes in his liver—they think it might be unrelated, but they want him to get a CT scan just to be sure.
Honestly, I have no clue how to act right now. I'm absolutely terrified, but I know I can't let it show 😢
If anyone here has gone through this type of cancer or has any advice at all, thank you so much.

I get that same sharp pain in my right ovary for a few days
before my period starts, too... but I honestly never realized it could be
anything more intense than just standard PMS😕
Ever since I switched over to the pill (Cilest), it feels like
it’s happening way more often. I'm just now starting to wonder about it...
I think I'm actually gonna bring it up with my OB-GYN at my next appointment.
If you're feeling worried, I'd definitely suggest doing the same thing!👋

They definitely need to run some tests (maybe a sinus CT scan?), because there's no way
running a fever that high for that long is normal.
I was sitting at 99.1 for two weeks and they ended up finding pneumonia
and, honestly, just a nasty sinus infection. 😲
As for doctors—they're all pretty much the same. My
dear doc always tells me: you've gotta learn how to stand up for yourself. Even though I haven't
quite mastered that yet... 🙄
But at least mine actually sends me for testing.
