So, I’ve got this old fake—an Oton Iveković piece titled "The Death of Matija Gubec." Anyway, I’m looking for some help figuring out who I should actually talk to about getting a professional appraisal for the painting. Since I’m rarely ever in downtown Chicago—and I definitely don't want to be trekking across the Midwest just for a quote—I was wondering if anyone knows of a reliable expert somewhere in the Heartland or maybe closer to the outskirts? I was over at my grandma's place the other day and stumbled upon this painting hanging on her wall—it’s been there for at least 30 years, and honestly, I never gave it a second thought...
After chatting with my uncle about it, I found out it's actually "The Death of Matija Gubec" by Oton Iveković. The piece is in fantastic condition, so I was wondering—does anyone know where I could go to sell high-end antiques like this?
