Is it just me, or is the "patience threshold" disappearing?

I was sitting in the airport terminal yesterday, just watching people deal with a massive schedule change, and it hit me how much everyone's fuse has shortened lately. It used to be that a delay was just a nuisance, something to grab a mediocre sandwich and kill time with. Now, it feels like every little hiccup in a plan turns into a full-blown crisis or a reason for someone to absolutely lose their mind.
I honestly think we're all living in this state of constant, low-level agitation. Between the instant gratification we get from our phones and the general chaos of the world, I don't think most people have the mental bandwidth left to handle a simple inconvenience without feeling like the universe is personally attacking them. I've seen people go from zero to a hundred in seconds over things that, in hindsight, really shouldn't matter that much.
Do you think we've just become more entitled, or is it actually harder to stay calm because life feels so unpredictable lately?
