Samuel Castillo3 said:So, is it actually true that he has a stutter? I never really caught onto it myself—though looking back at some of those old YouTube interviews, I guess I can see how he talks a little more slowly than most!
Anyway, the guy's a total legend.🙏
Yeah, it’s true. He started stuttering around the end of elementary school, and honestly, a lot of that was why he started cracking jokes and playing the class clown—he said it was his way of showing everyone that even though he had a stutter, he wasn't any less capable. He used to be super outgoing and social, but the stuttering made him pull back into himself at first, so he found that when he stood in front of an audience—you know, when he's acting or stepping into a character—the stuttering just sort of vanishes. So, working alongside some specialists to manage it, he leaned into acting, and that's where he fell in love with the craft. Over time, he managed to pretty much overcome it almost entirely.
Finally, a thread dedicated to him 🙏!
Look, Bruce Willis is easily one of my favorite action stars, but honestly? He’s one of my favorite actors, period
!
I watched Moonlighting ages ago back when it was actually airing, but I recently decided to revisit it and ended up binge-watching all five seasons in one go! People love to nitpick and say he basically plays the same David Addison type in half his other movies (including a bit of a similar vibe in Die Hard), but personally, I think he’s just perfect for those roles—it totally suits him, probably because they share the same DNA character-wise
.
I’ve seen most of his stuff—I actually gave a friend a list of what I was missing and they tracked them down for me—though I haven't gotten around to Hudson Hawk yet. People claim that movie might have been the beginning of the end for Bruce Willis if Quentin Tarantino hadn't stepped in to save him, so I’m saving Hudson for last, just so I can compare it to everything else once I see how much people actually hated it
.
To kick this topic off, here’s another big 👍!
So, I finally sat down and watched it the other day. Based on the trailer, you’re expecting this high-octane, fast-paced ride—you know, the whole vibe of sudden financial freedom and having a gorgeous woman on your arm thanks to some brain-boosting magic, which feels like a bit of a pivot from the original premise. But honestly? Compared to what the trailer was selling, the movie itself is kind of a letdown.
Still, if you’re just looking for something easy to zone out to—even if a few scenes get a little heavy—it’s a perfectly fine way to kill an afternoon or an evening.
It tries to juggle a bunch of different themes, sometimes feeling a bit unnecessary, like the whole debate over overnight success versus actually grinding for years, or those messy questions about morality and reputation... personally, I think the director should have just stuck to the lighthearted action, because once it tries to get all deep and philosophical, that's where the movie really starts to stumble.
Look, it's not going to be one of those cinematic masterpieces people talk about for decades, but it's certainly not something you should avoid at all costs either.
