The camera bodies aren't the issue; it's the glass that drains your bank account. I remember when we were first picking out our DSLRs... you buy one lens for this, another for that, and by the time you actually want a decent, high-quality setup with a large sensor to produce clean shots, you're looking at tens of thousands of dollars. Professionals need that level of gear, otherwise, they simply won't capture anything worthwhile...
