We don't need God when we have the ocean 😎

Nero, it’s high time you let Karan show us how he plays beach volleyball...

Olivia Taylor2 said:Actually, I think it's the exact opposite. Most of those people probably voted for Bridge. If we had to redo the elections (which isn't happening), Bridge would be lucky to even tie with Living Wall. That's why they're trying to force any candidate through today; they know they're headed for a total wipeout if they have to go back to the polls.

Then why does it only bother them when one side is involved? If you're perfectly fine with them forming a coalition exclusively with the Democratic Party, then just go ahead and vote for them now; the same logic applies to the other side.

It makes no difference to me; I cast my vote for them, not for whoever they intended or eventually decide to partner with... Let them do whatever they deem best.

As I mentioned, everyone seemed perfectly fine with things on Monday. Then, suddenly, we’re swarmed by these hordes of outraged people, most of whom didn't even vote for the Bridge in the first place...

Michelle Palmer6 said:He finally did exactly what everyone has been calling him out for over the last month: he picked a side. The problem is, for a huge chunk of the public, he picked the wrong one.
It's true, the moves made yesterday feel pretty shady. But honestly, even if we had new elections, Bridge would end up in the exact same spot. They wouldn't be the leading party in power regardless; they'd just be a corrective force against either the GOP or the Democratic Party. New elections might seem more palatable, but in the end, they wouldn't change much. Especially since those current representatives who left Bridge to join the Democratic Party would have a hell of a time winning seats on their own in Congress.

Back on Monday, when a Bridge-Democratic Party coalition seemed like a real possibility, nobody was raising an eyebrow or using harsh language...😬

They looked good to me a week ago when every option was on the table; they looked fine on Monday when the Democratic Party was the choice; they looked questionable yesterday once the GOP remained the focus; and honestly, they’ll look just as questionable today if we head to the polls again, though I suppose I still hold out a glimmer of hope for that scenario... They earned our vote, so they have the right to do as they please with it... We'll see in a year or two if we made a mistake at the ballot box, but there's no sense in tearing them down before they've even acted... we'll have plenty of time for that later...

urbanhawk17 said:A majority versus a minority could easily be 13 to 2. I guess where are you getting 10 to 5?

I read it somewhere, though the data could just as easily be wrong...

A 13-2 split seems quite unlikely...
Offside Chat Archives (2014-2021) in Soccer ·
Well, the data has been pointing toward this exact ratio on the Bridge from the very beginning—a right-wing majority with a minority on the left—which actually makes sense when you consider where the core of the Bridge is located... It isn't exactly news to anyone...

If the Democratic Party had any skin in this game, they’d be throwing a victory parade right now, just like how Zoki used to insist that Bandić was some kind of legendary mayor... 😬

It’s the same story with the minority groups, too; last month they claimed the left wing was their only hope, but if this group actually manages to form a government tomorrow, suddenly everyone will be cheering along... when there’s money being handed out from the federal budget, it’s always better to be the one holding the bucket...

brightpilot6 said:By the way, regarding all this pressure being applied:

Well, yeah, it’s nothing more than just talk, isn't it?

Oh, there’s definitely pressure coming from every direction. If these rumors hold water, we might see a few more people from the Democratic Party's faction of the Bridge exit tonight, which would mean heading back to the polls tomorrow...🤷

And what’s the issue? I’ll vote for the Bridge again, and even if they only snag one seat—who cares—it’s enough to secure a two-thirds majority for the Living Wall government...

They didn't disappoint me, though I suppose they should have just picked a side from the start—which was really their only viable move if they wanted to actually get anything done. They should have laid out their terms, set a deadline, demanded an answer, and then either moved forward or collapsed the Government and called for new elections...

What Petrov attempted by trying to play both sides within the Bridge itself was a complete non-starter; you simply cannot reconcile those two factions...

brightpilot6 said:I am entirely convinced that both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party have been playing those exact same games. Even Petrov admitted previously that both sides were actively working it. Given that, calling this a "last-minute crisis" feels laughably absurd, doesn't it? Especially when you consider how much he's already gained and how certain he seems about the absolute loyalty of his own people.

Precisely.

And if Karamarko has even a shred of common sense left, he could pull whatever moves he needs to tomorrow. After all, Bridge wouldn't even secure half of its current seats in the next election, a fact the current leadership isn't blind to. Who's to say Petrov won't end up as the head of The Cabinet, only to step down for "family reasons" in about six months?

Why haven't the others who are practically in the Democratic Party's pocket been purged yet? Or do you actually believe that Prgomet and Petrin are some pillars of stability and integrity, while everyone else just nods along to whatever Bo serves them on a silver platter?

Prgomet is just looking for payback against the GOP, though I suspect he’s actually hurting inside because Zoki played him like a fool, letting the whole country watch as they cobbled together a coalition without a single expert from Bridge... and as for Petrin... the man is a total joke.

Word on the street is things are looking pretty lopsided at the Bridge right now... if everyone decided to jump ship to the Republican Party tonight, then Petrov has clearly done a masterful job of brainwashing those remaining five...
Offside Chat Archives (2014-2021) in Soccer ·
I don't trust anyone, not even my own judgment ☕ Though I am reasonably certain that someone coerced Petrov, who then turned around and pressured the rest of them...

The "traitors" have been purged, leaving behind those who have held their ground remarkably well despite the endless negotiations and shifting sides they've faced along the way.
Offside Chat Archives (2014-2021) in Soccer ·
What’s the deal with the cards? The Bridge party got dealt a bad hand right from the start, especially since they basically moved in with one minister and Petrin never even bothered to hide which side he was playing for. It was entirely earned...

Now, if someone actually sat Petrov down today and said, "Enough games, you know who you have to align with," then we're looking at a plotline worthy of a prime-time reality TV thriller, suggesting someone orchestrated this entire mess just to reach this point...

As for who is close to whom, people naturally gravitate toward certain sides; most lean toward the Republican Party, while a smaller group favors the Democratic Party, which isn't surprising given where the core of the Bridge party sits...

Honestly, I don't see anything changing tomorrow either; someone will inevitably screw up again, and Kolinda will step in to cut the Gordian knot, sending us straight back to new elections...

brightpilot6 said:Of course it isn't about the decision itself, but rather the clumsy way he went about it—specifically, his entire approach over this last month and a half. If he had just pivoted toward the Republican Party a week after the election, I might have just snorted and thought, "Fine, whatever, that's your prerogative."

But this whole theatrical farce, where he ended up performing the most ridiculous mental gymnastics imaginable just to honor either his own word or someone else's initial intention? Honestly, it felt like nothing more than a way to make us all look like fools.

Look, you’re operating under the assumption that he was a Republican partisan from the start, or that there's some hidden agenda driving him toward them.

I don't think 🤷 he had a reason or an opportunity to jump ship every single day for the last month... why wait until today? I have no idea, and I certainly won't bother guessing, especially not ten hours after the announcement. I'm sure we'll eventually uncover the full truth, whenever that may be...

Božo just completely trashed the Democratic Party, and now he’s essentially... 👋

Božo, honestly, damn you... those of us who actually voted for you would probably do it all over again, but go ahead and run off with whoever you want. I won't be spitting on you just yet... there's still plenty of time left for that...

As for those traitors who operated right here on our soil—that chapter is closed. The long arm of American justice has already caught the vast majority of them, leaving only a tiny fraction to scurry away under the protection of foreign patrons... That small group will never again lay eyes on our great mountains or our blooming fields. And even if they did, it wouldn't last long...

Quite the quote, wow 👋

It would be quite a disaster if Zoki decided to join forces with those religious zealots and reactionaries 👋

As a supporter of Bridge, I’ll be deeply disappointed if this individual remains Prime Minister while the economy and our national productivity stay completely stagnant. If that was truly what we wanted, we could have just voted for them from the beginning instead of wasting everyone's time... 🤣
