Is it just me, or is "loyalty" a thing of the past in pro sports?

I was watching some highlights last night and it really got me thinking about how much the culture of professional sports has shifted. It used to feel like you had a core group of guys who built something together, but now it feels like everyone is just a temporary asset on a spreadsheet.
It’s getting harder to root for these teams when you know that as soon as a player’s value hits a certain peak, they’re basically being packed up and shipped off to the highest bidder. I remember back in the day when a veteran staying through a rebuilding phase actually meant something. Now, it feels like the front offices are just playing a high-stakes game of musical chairs every single summer.
Don't get me wrong, I get the business side of it. You have to maximize value, right? But it definitely makes it harder to build that emotional connection with a roster when you know the lineup could be completely different by next month. It feels less like a team and more like a revolving door of talent.
Do you guys find it harder to stay invested in a team when the roster is constantly being shuffled around, or do you just view it as part of the game?
