Blue links and white transparent boxes in IT Support ·
Thanks... I'll give it a shot. I've got my work laptop with me right now, so things are a little limited here.
Blue links and white transparent boxes in IT Support ·
So, I recently dusted off an old HP laptop—it’s running Windows 10, which is fine, everything seems to function—but the interface is acting incredibly strange. Every single link is highlighted in this bright blue color, and there are these odd, semi-transparent little squares appearing underneath them... it's quite distracting. To make matters worse, the whole thing feels "inverted" somehow; when I click on something, it doesn't feel right. At first, I suspected Chrome might be the culprit, so I downloaded Firefox to test it out, but the issue persists regardless of the browser. I tried digging through the Control Panel—looking under Internet Options and Display settings—but I can't seem to find the setting responsible for this mess. Is this just some weird setting someone toggled by mistake, or is it actually a hardware issue with the laptop itself?
I’m talking about a toy I used to have—like, twenty years ago, actually!! (which is precisely why I’m scratching my head wondering why it’s nowhere to be found online). It was roughly 7 or 8 cm in size... ran on those flat button cell batteries, had three little buttons (memory, plus left and right arrows), and featured the English alphabet. You basically typed out letters—it had this tiny little screen, you see—so you could write things like "I LOVE YOU," save them to the memory, and then by waving the device left and right, the whole message would scroll through. I’ve already scoured eBay, AliExpress, Amazon, and pretty much everywhere else.
How much power does my PC actually draw? in Desktops ·
I was just sitting here wondering—and please forgive my curiosity—but does anyone happen to know the average power draw for a computer setup that still utilizes a CRT monitor?
USB drive not being recognized in IT Support ·
I picked up one of those little USB sticks—you know, the ones meant for transferring SD cards directly from your phone—but my laptop isn't even acknowledging it's plugged in. It’s one of those generic, unbranded "Micro SD TransFlash USB" things... no manufacturer name or anything helpful. Does anyone have any advice on what I should try next?
