Is digital privacy becoming a luxury? in Random / Off-topic ·
It feels like every time I turn around, there's a new subscription or a "special deal" just to keep my data from being scraped. Does anyone else feel like we're reaching a point where basic online security is going to cost a monthly fee for everyone?

I do private training with him.
I actually just got back from a session... I feel pretty beaten up again, I guess.
I started back when we were holding sessions over in Martinsville, but since about a year ago, I've been coming to his garage.

We did manage to secure some space at the local community college dorms (I mentioned this in a notice a while back), but I'm not entirely sure if they're actually holding classes there because interest seems low. It’s mostly just elementary-level stuff, which isn't really what most people are looking for.

Anyway, my advice would be to look into private instruction, regardless of which club you eventually join. You tend to progress much faster that way, and you get a better sense of your own mechanics along with the instructor's expertise. Most importantly—if you ever feel like someone is selling you a bill of goods, you can always bring your own gear and test things out for yourself to see if it holds water.

I'll send you a PM shortly.

Is private coaching pricey? Hit me up in a PM if you can.

Who's the instructor, and are they still actively training or leveling up their own skills?

And what do you mean by "wrecked"? Like, did your conditioning fail you, or was he actually working you over? Give me the lowdown on how the training goes.

As far as I can tell, there isn't a club anymore.
He just does private coaching now.

I don't have his contact info, and I'm not sure if he's even taking on new students. But, if he does take you on—and if you have the money for private lessons—you’d probably be getting the best training in the country, maybe even better.
That’s just what I know, and what I've heard, anyway.

If not... well, welcome to yet another "my dad is tougher than your dad" type of debate regarding US Wing Chun.

I actually managed to track down his number online, but he mentioned he isn't taking anyone on—though I saw some info on this forum saying he does, provided you have a solid recommendation.

Whereabouts are you training? Are you out in the suburbs? I've been looking to get into Wing Chun myself—where do you guys have a club located so I can come by and check things out?
