Thank God I haven't been in a scrap in at least five years.
But man, things used to be different back in the day! 😢
In actual real-world scenarios—at least the ones I’ve personally dealt with—track and field conditioning helped me way more than Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ever did. Most of those situations involved someone being twice my size or carrying a knife...
That doesn't mean I haven't been in fights, but honestly, even when you "win" (and let's be real, the only true win is getting away safely!), it might have been better if you hadn't. Sometimes winning just triggers a retaliation, and that's when things get really ugly fast.
Anyway, I'm totally with Megan White4 and urbanotter5 on this one. This constant bickering over which discipline is superior is getting seriously exhausting to read!
Honestly, you guys should all just get tossed into one big octagon together to settle it once and for all.
And the sheer amount of ignorant trash-talking about martial arts is enough to make me feel embarrassed just being an enthusiast of the sport and MMA competitions...
You see it all over YouTube, just pure amateur hour.
Everyone thinks they're some kind of elite warrior, everyone's training the "perfect" style, and everyone thinks they can just go out and wreck anyone...
I’m assuming most of the people posting this stuff are under 19 (hopefully), because otherwise, the idea of spending all that time learning a skill just to potentially use it in a street fight feels as pointless as buying a high-end gaming PC just to type documents in Word.
