It isn't in America... it’s in Mostar....

Daniel Garcia said:Nah, you got it wrong—you’re mixing up modern Japanese styles with traditional JJ. On the traditional stuff, they stick strictly to techniques from that era and the philosophy behind them, whereas modern is all about being sports-oriented.

Like I said, different sports require totally different kinds of conditioning. An MMA fighter or a grappler would probably drop dead during a heavy striking session, and vice versa.

I actually just called a gym about 100 yards from my house, and they told me they offer BJJ, Muay Thai, and Kali—though from what I gather, Kali involves cold weapons, which isn't really my thing 😁)...

Anyway, BJJ or Muay Thai... I'm leaning more toward Muay Thai. It seems like BJJ is heavy on ground fighting and takedowns, whereas my main priority right now is leg endurance—and it looks like Muay Thai involves much more footwork. Or maybe I've got that wrong?

Either way, BJJ would be great for that, or traditional Jiu-Jitsu, maybe wrestling too... basically any grappling style...

Cardio-style endurance....
Yeah, I did a little digging on Google—traditional JJ sounds pretty tempting....

I’m looking to sign up for a martial art—primarily one focused on building endurance. It doesn't necessarily have to be the sole purpose, but I want the discipline that pushes cardiovascular limits the most.
I’d lean toward Eastern disciplines—not boxing or anything like that—but I'm open to suggestions. What are you all recommending?

Also, is starting at 19 too late? I have no intention of going pro; I just want something to prepare me for my service in the military.
