Hey everyone! 👋
Quick question—does anyone know if there are any MMA or BJJ gyms in Belleriville where girls can train? If there happen to be a few options, I’d love some recommendations. Thanks in advance! 🙂

So, I was checking out some local gym websites, and honestly, none of them really say how to sign up. Is there a specific enrollment period, or can I just show up whenever they have a class running?

Honestly, it really varies depending on the gym—every place does its own thing. Some places take people all year round, while others fill up right at the start of the season and you're stuck waiting for a spot later on. Just a heads-up, though—a packed class doesn't always mean it's the best club; there are plenty of other factors at play. Your best bet is probably just reaching out to the clubs you're interested in directly (maybe hit up a few if you're undecided!). You can often swing a trial class, and some spots even offer them for free—definitely worth checking. You should be able to find all their contact info online.

So I’ve got my adblocker running—but for some reason, it just won't let me block that little devil. Honestly, I can't even find the setting to do it.
(Sorry for going off-topic, won't happen again)

Hey, what do you guys think about this pop-up that keeps jumping out on the main page? It’s super annoying—you can't click anything until you find that little X to close it. For me, it keeps redirecting to some random site—not Astra, just other ads, but still—anyway, is there a way to just disable these things entirely? Sorry for the offtopic!

They have Small and Medium in stock, but honestly, the Medium looks like it'd be way too tight on me, even though it's supposed to be the bigger size... so I'm passing on the whole thing. Plus, the selection around here in places like Indianapolis is pretty weak anyway... 😁
I’m more curious about whether wearing a knee brace in general can actually do any harm to a healthy knee—you know, just out of curiosity...
I’ve been hearing some talk lately that’s got me feeling a little bit stuck again... honestly, I'm back to square one with all this uncertainty...

Theoretically, it could cause issues if you were wearing it constantly—like, 24/7, every single day. But just wearing it during a workout? You'll be totally fine.

I’ve been thinking about what kind of martial art actually works when you're stuck in a tight spot and need to defend yourself.
Are we talking Krav Maga, Aikido, or maybe something else entirely?

Also, I was wondering if anyone knows of any decent gyms in NYC where the monthly dues aren't going to absolutely wreck my bank account?$100 Looking for something reasonably cheap.

You should totally come check us out—we've got a Krav Maga club over in the West Side area, near Pavilion 25. Membership is just $83. Just shoot a message to the user KravMagaZG for all the specifics—he's the one running the show.

I’ve been scrolling through this forum for a little while now, just soaking everything in, and it really got me thinking—does anyone here happen to know of a solid self-defense course specifically geared toward men? I'm looking for something substantial.
I’ve found myself in that exact spot more times than I care to admit—you know, those moments where you desperately want to step up and help someone out, or maybe just de-escalate a heated confrontation, but instead of finding your voice, you just... freeze. It’s like my entire body decides to go on strike; my legs turn to lead, I can feel my heart hammering against my ribs so hard it’s practically thumping in my ears, and suddenly, my brain just shuts down. You’re standing there, completely paralyzed, staring at the situation while your pulse races, and you have absolutely no clue what move to make next. It’s incredibly frustrating to feel that disconnect between wanting to act and being physically unable to move.
I honestly just want to find a way to break free from these mental brakes—to finally shake off this paralyzing fear once and for all, no matter what it takes.

Thanks so much for the help!

Check out Krav Maga in downtown Chicago—they run classes near the fairgrounds. You should reach out to the user KravMagaZG; he's actually an instructor there. We're on a summer break right now, but you can definitely jump back in once things start up again this fall.
Incorrect post count in Forum Help! ·
Thanks, so that's where the snag is. Just curious though—why don't posts count in certain subforums? If you don't mind me asking 🙂
Incorrect post count in Forum Help! ·
I hope I'm in the right subforum here.

So, I'm a bit confused—my profile says I only have 4 posts, but I actually have 14 (or 15, if we count this one)? Everything seemed totally fine yesterday when I was at 14 posts, but then some mods deleted one of my comments overnight—just one, I checked!—and ever since then, my post count has been stuck at 4. It hasn't budged, even after I've added more. I'm guessing it might be related to that deleted post from last night, since I haven't really done anything else differently. Could someone take a look and fix this? Thanks!

edit: After starting this thread, the count jumped to 5, but it should really be 15 (actually 16 now—edit 2).
