What I’m trying to say is you can find way better stuff out there that won't break the bank. Personally, I think H&M has much nicer selection than something like Walmart, and it's still cheap. 🙂
Some ladies on this board shop at Target and look amazing—sure, they might not be "curvier," but I bet they carry larger sizes there too.
I'm not sure about the price points at the Marina Rinaldi store, but from what I can see, they stock sizes 10 to 24, and the clothes actually look pretty cute. 🙂

Just to back that up—there definitely is more plus-size clothing available, and you’ll run into it much more often than elsewhere. I frequently shop at secondhand stores; I have a fuller figure, and unlike some of those boutiques back home, I can almost always find my size (and look great doing it 😁). So, if you’re open to it, I highly recommend thrifting as a budget-friendly option for curvier women. It’s actually fun, like a treasure hunt for something unique... if you manage to snag some truly high-quality pieces in perfect condition. Most of the things I’ve bought have felt brand new.

It’s not even about that; it’s just incredibly difficult to find anything modern or actually attractive in larger sizes. Most of what’s out there looks like it was designed specifically for my grandmother or some old aunt. Honestly, even they might consider it if it had any sense of style, but this clothing is an insult to anyone with decent taste. It looks like something a stressed-out mom living out in rural Nebraska with nine kids and zero free time would be forced to wear just to get through the day.

Alternatively, if a brand actually offers a plus-size line—like those tacky catalog companies—and tries to market it as "modern," you just end up with these incredibly dull, shapeless, baggy cuts.

If I had to sum up plus-size fashion in three words, it would be: baggy, boring, and ugly. There’s this widespread assumption that wearing oversized, shapeless clothes somehow flatters a fuller figure, but I couldn't disagree more. All it does is make everyone look massive, regardless of how much extra weight they actually carry.

I honestly get the impression that "modern," sexy, or interesting clothing is deemed appropriate only for thin people, while those of us with curves are just supposed to deal with it. And whose fault is it? I guess if we want to dress normally like everyone else, we’re just supposed to stop eating cookies. 🙄

I’m with you on this 😢. It feels like if you aren't constantly obsessed with fitting into some narrow ideal—either by forcing yourself into a diet or hitting the gym until you drop—you just don't belong. Honestly, anyone who doesn't meet these impossible standards should probably just lock themselves in their house and live exclusively in oversized sweatpants so the world never has to look at them. I’ll admit, there isn't an official medical threshold for "extreme" obesity yet, but what we're seeing right now is just absurd. Regular people can't even find clothes that fit properly anymore...

Oh my god! 😲 This is just awful... honestly, what gets me most are those comments about "huge" numbers. Every time I hear someone talking like that, I feel like I want to reach out and physically unscrew their head just to stop the noise.

Mark Perez2 said:I'd say they're around $70$27. They have microfiber options, too; they carry both tights and hold-ups in all sorts of different colors.

Thanks! ^^ Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up—I stopped by the store today and they’re completely out of tights, they only have the boyshorts left. If anyone spots those white short tights anywhere else, please let me know! 😬

Wow, thanks a million! *o* Were they super expensive? I definitely need to head over there tomorrow and check them out myself!

Does anyone know where I can pick up some opaque white tights? Cotton would be ideal, but I'm open to the classic nylon style... either knee-highs or full tights.
