Nathan Baker said:If anyone knows where I can pick up a wedding outfit for under $50, please, let me know. I'm all ears.🙄

That’s an interesting way to look at it. Following that logic, when I eventually get married, I’d need to hunt down a gown for less than $50—and since I’ll probably never wear it again, whereas I might actually use a wedding outfit a few more times, it almost makes sense... or does it?

You basically took my "logic," twisted it into this weird little bucket, and now your conclusion doesn't even match what I actually said.
Basically, what I was saying is that I find it totally bizarre how people have zero issue dropping $267 on a dress they’ll wear once or twice, yet suddenly act like spending $133 on everyday clothes—stuff you'll wear for at least two years and probably ten times a month—is some huge deal.

Yeah, I honestly don't get it. Especially when we're talking about a city that isn't exactly mid-sized and where having decent, well-made clothes actually matters.

I mean, look—you buy a shirt in NYC for like $30, wash it three times, and the seams warp so bad it looks like trash. I'd much rather go to an upscale spot in the Upper East Side and spend $83 on something I can wear for three years where the stitching actually stays put.

@Peter Gray2: yeah, you're right, you aren't gonna find a high-quality gown for $50. But do you seriously think some pair of jeans from Topshop in NYC for $50 are going to be just as good as a $150 pair from Esprit or Mustang or whatever?

So I’ve been scrolling through all your posts and honestly? I have to say, a lot of you seem to have this super weird mindset when it comes to how much you're willing to drop on clothes. It was Nathan Baker's post that really got me thinking—they were saying they'd shell out $267 for a wedding dress, but then for stuff they actually wear every single day, like shirts or sweaters, they'd cap it at maybe $50. Like, excuse me? I don't get that logic at all... personally, I always prioritize my daily wardrobe over some fancy shoes for a formal event.

My whole philosophy is pretty simple: I care way more about having comfortable shoes for my everyday grind than those designer heels I'll only wear a couple of times a year for a few hours. If they're uncomfortable, I can deal with a little foot pain once in a while, whatever.

But seriously, the quality and comfort of what I'm wearing on a Tuesday afternoon matters SO much more to me—I need to feel good in my skin, you know? Maybe it's because I tend to hold onto my favorite pieces for years and years, so I don't mind dropping an extra 200-$100 if it means it lasts.

Sorry if I'm totally off base here though...

Jason Moore63 said:I know they exist. I actually picked one up recently, but honestly? Not thrilled. It left these annoying little bulges right under my straps, just above the cups, and the fit was weird—not tight enough to hold anything, yet somehow too loose at the same time. I never had those issues with Victoria's Secret.
My absolute favorites have to be Chantelle. They actually carry a 32E, which is rare. Still, I hate spending $167 on a bra I'm just going to wear every single day, but hey, life is expensive. I guess I don't have much of a choice.

I don't really get why you think $167 is too much for a daily bra when you already know it’s actually good? Especially since you're dealing with such a limited size range—finding anything that fits is a struggle in itself, so I think that price is totally fair. Like, your average "standard" bra is usually around $100.

My whole philosophy is that I’m always gonna splurge on whatever is most comfortable for my day-to-day life, even if it costs a bit more—rather than blowing a ton of cash on some fancy dress shoes or something similar that I’ll only wear once or twice a year.

Seriously, go check out Alpine. I found these killer boots there the year before last—and get this—I could actually buckle them up without a massive struggle for once...

Since you guys wouldn't stop raving about it, I finally had to go check out Freakette! 😛 That outfit is killer—honestly, those high-waisted pieces without pants are my absolute vibe. Where on earth did you grab them?

Ugh, don't even get me started on pants.... lately I’ve just been hitting up C&A, they actually carry petite sizes where the number is the same but the length isn't ridiculous. If I get lucky and find a pair that actually fits, I don't have to deal with the hassle, but honestly? It feels like I always end up at the tailor just to get the waist taken in... such a pain.
I used to pick up dresses there too, though I usually ended up feeling pretty bummed because their selection is basically non-existent most of the time.
Now, S.Oliver has some gorgeous dresses (I actually spotted this one stunning charcoal grey one recently 😁), but ugh, for my budget? Way too pricey. Like, unless there's a massive clearance sale, I might have to try my luck at a thrift store or something.

And yeah, wearing dresses is totally just a habit thing now. At first, I felt so weird in them—kind of felt "extra" or whatever—but now? I literally can't live without them. Not even in the summer, and especially not when it gets freezing outside.
My absolute favorite look is definitely a midi dress paired with tall boots.

Look, you can try to act all tough and pretend nobody’s here to lecture you—since you’ve clearly seen a thing or two yourself—but then you turn around and start preaching about how women wearing a size 12 aren't "curvy" enough. Seriously?
They aren't, unless they're like 5'11", but since I'm only 5'4" (and someone else already pointed 😉 this out), I definitely am. And no, my view isn't some warped reality fueled by fashion magazines or whatever. If you actually saw me, you wouldn't even dare call me skinny. I already told you, everything is just in the wrong places, so you see every single extra pound—it's all right there. Maybe if I were built differently, I’d actually look curvy in a size 4?!
Anyway, you just can't generalize like that.

Look, security first—but seriously, I don't get why you have to force your lifestyle on everyone else? Just because you love wandering through every single shop in the mall and trying on a hundred different outfits doesn't mean that’s the "right" way to do things. It's just not for me.
Honestly, I absolutely loathe shopping. Any kind of shopping. I get so incredibly cranky whenever I actually have to hunt for something—like, I’ll go into one store, realize it's not right, then trek over to another, then realize I missed something at the first one, and suddenly I'm back where I started and nothing fits right... ugh, it's exhausting.🙂
And it’s not just about clothes, either—it applies to everything! Spices, furniture, gifts... you name it, if I have to hunt for it, I'm annoyed.

Another thing I totally disagree with is this idea that you aren't "curvy" enough unless you're under a size 4. Like, excuse me? I wear a US size 10 or 12 and let me tell you, I am more than curvy. It’s just that everything seems to sit in all the wrong places on my body!🤣

Usually, I’ll hit up the local Target, Macy’s, or maybe a Kohl’s, but only because they're close by and I know they carry larger sizes. And I only go when I actually need something specific—I’m definitely not going there to kill time or just wander aimlessly around the aisles.
Sadly, I’m not quite brave enough to tackle online shopping yet, even though, if I'm being real, that's exactly how I'd prefer to buy stuff.

Oh, and about that whole thing with baby oil—someone was asking if it leaves stains? Now THAT is something I’m curious about too! I might actually have to give that a shot and see...
