I really gotta give a huge thanks to Felix for putting in the work and clearing things up for me. It’s definitely Hashimoto. Confirmed.
It’s been popping up every now and then for a few years now. Usually happens in the evening, sometimes every single day, though other times I go a couple of days without anything or it’s super mild. It rarely actually wakes me up at night, like maybe some general itching on my legs or upper arms. I don't have any other symptoms, really. I can just say that I quit smoking, started taking multivitamins and folic acid (my doctor's recommendation), and I don't feel exhausted anymore—that heavy head feeling where it feels like someone finally "opened the blinds" is gone. They'll probably want to check my thyroid hormones again. As far as I know, there hasn't been any eosinophilia so far. I just remember some notes about my CBC Panel regarding hypochromia and microcytosis, and when I had infections, my WBC showed slight neutrophilia.

My immunologist sent me in—the referral was for urticaria (it shows up mostly at night on my arms, legs, and back; the hives are longish, looking like I scratched myself, they itch and sting like I spilled hydrogen peroxide on me, then they vanish super fast)

Did a prick test—came back negative.

Personal history: Type IIa hypercholesterolemia, no meds for it yet, normogonadotropic hypogonadism (currently in the middle of an IVF cycle; had one successful attempt about 7 years ago)
Frequent "viruses," colds, and sometimes I get herpes simplex on my lip afterward. Also dealing with vaginal Candida and E. coli in my urine (just a random finding of 10^5; asymptomatic bacteriuria), but my Pap and CBC were normal.

Thyroid hormones look fine. Haven't had a recent CBC, but everything is basically okay—though my bloodwork always shows microcytosis and hypochromia.

I guess I should probably redo the TSH (it was 2.39 during a physical last year, but usually stays around 1.x) plus maybe another ultrasound since they found a tiny, clinically insignificant goiter before—or so the internist said.

Then CRP and ESR, but I'm not sure about the rest.

I just want to know if I'm reading this right—that nothing here is really worrying, just some mild iron deficiency starting to develop? And those antibodies are fine? Just gotta watch the thyroid so it doesn't slide into hypo?

Can I take Heferol and maybe Decortin (because of high CIC levels) while doing IVF?
Chloe Ruiz2 said:Hey everyone, if anyone knows their stuff, could you help me make sense of these lab results? (I put the reference ranges in parentheses). I'm a 32-year-old woman:

Iron levels at 7... yikes. That's pretty low. I guess that's definitely outside the normal range.
My UIBC came back at 59, which is right at the top end of the normal range (26-59). I guess that's technically fine, but still feels a little high to me!
My TIBC came back at 65 (normal range is 49-75). Seems pretty normal to me, I guess!
Iron saturation is at 10%... the normal range is like 15 to 50. I guess that's pretty low.
My Ferritin came back at 8.9 (normal range is 5-148). Oof. That’s pretty low, I guess.
My CIC IgG came back at 182, but the normal range only goes up to 130... yikes.
My CIC IgM came back at 241... and apparently, anything over 100 is considered high. I guess that's a bit of a jump!

My C3 complement component came back at 1.22 (normal range is 0.83-1.93). I guess everything looks pretty normal there!
My C4 complement component came back at 0.26, which is right in the normal range (0.15-0.57). I guess everything looks pretty standard there!
My TG is at 157... which is definitely higher than that 115 mark they want me to hit.

The Anti-TPO results should be ready tomorrow.
Total IgE results from two weeks ago.

Thanks in advance!

Anti TPO came back at 26 (which is less than 34, so it's negative).
Hey, if anyone knows their stuff, could you help me make sense of these results? (Reference values are in parentheses). I'm a 32-year-old woman:

Iron levels at 7... wow, that's pretty low. I guess you might be feeling a bit wiped out.
My UIBC came back at 59 (the range is 26-59). So, I guess I'm right on the edge!
My TIBC came back at 65, which is right in the normal range of 49 to 75. I guess everything looks pretty steady there!
My iron saturation is sitting at 10%, which is pretty low since the normal range is supposed to be between 15 and 50. I guess I'm running on empty!
My Ferritin is sitting at 8.9 (normal range is 5-148). Man, that's pretty low... I guess I might be running on fumes here.
My CIC IgG came back at 182, but the normal range only goes up to 130... yikes.
My CIC IgM came back at 241... and apparently, anything over 100 is high. I guess that’s something to keep an eye on.

My C3 complement component came back at 1.22 (normal range is 0.83-1.93). I guess everything looks pretty standard there!
My C4 complement component came back at 0.26 (normal range is 0.15-0.57). Looks like everything is right where it should be!
My TG is at 157... which is definitely higher than that 115 mark they want. I guess I'm a bit over.

The Anti-TPO results should be ready by tomorrow.
My total IgE levels from two weeks ago.

Thanks in advance!
Thanks a million for such a detailed answer and for clearing everything up! Speaking of dyslipidemia, one internist wanted me on atorvastatin, but another doctor thinks that red fermented rice supplements (you know, those OTC ones) should be totally enough for my situation. I just went ahead and decided to take the second doctor's advice. Best, and thanks again for explaining it all!
Hey there!

I was wondering if anyone with a bit of sense and free time could help me make sense of these lab results? I'm a woman in my early thirties:

slightly elevated FIBRINOGEN 4.2 g/L (ref. range 1.8-3.5)
moderately low MPV 6.2 fL (ref. range 6.8-10.4) - platelets are normal

Also, I have hyperlipidemia,

total cholesterol 7.4 mmol/L ( HDL 1.78 mmol/L (>1.2)
LDL 5.4 mmol/L ( triglycerides are normal.

I had these tests done as part of a checkup because I'm starting hormone replacement therapy due to low estradiol levels (secondary amenorrhea).

I did a little Googling, but I'm honestly not sure if I could "connect the dots" between all these numbers into one single diagnosis, even tentatively. So, thanks in advance to any kind soul with some expertise who'd be willing to share what they know!

or, does anyone else feel like moms deal with some weirdly specific anxiety regarding their kids' hair color or if they're thinning out too much?
come on people, let's dial back the melodrama and bring this down to a reasonable level
this constant chatting and "vibing" really isn't what this forum is built for

I’m asking the frustrated moderators—you know, the ones without kids who spend their whole lives glued to a computer screen—to maybe show a little more respect to moms, especially those dealing with twins or triplets.
We aren't just some "INTERESTING GROUP," like the person quoted above said; we're moms in a super specific situation, and our chat is meant for that.
I mean, if you aren't going to make separate chats for every single "INTERESTING GROUP," why not just open one giant chat for the whole entire forum?! Why shouldn't moms, pregnant women, auto mechanics, night owls, and scammers all type together? Like, while some people are posting about how great they felt after watching the latest adult movie, we moms with twins can be over here talking about breastfeeding in tandem. And hey, if we get lucky, maybe some creep will chime in saying how much that turns him on while the foodies are busy commenting on how to cook salmon. Now THAT would be a chat!
