Ear Piercing Advice?

I have a quick question for everyone here.
Last Friday, I went to a local jeweler to get my ear pierced, and now I’m feeling a little uncertain about a few things that happened since then.
Only two days after the piercing, I was taking off my motorcycle helmet and the little metal "stopper" or backing that holds the medical stud in place just popped right off.
I ended up leaving that tiny back part on my nightstand overnight, while the earring itself stayed in my ear, but apparently, it slipped out while I was sleeping and landed on my bed.
When I woke up and went to put the earring back in, I noticed the hole had already started to close up; however, if I applied a little pressure, I could still manage to guide the stud back through the hole.
Now, there's a bit of discharge—almost like a little pus—whenever I lift the earring from the back side, though nothing too extreme. It also feels like the earring is sort of sinking into the lobe, almost as if the skin has become so soft that the jewelry is being swallowed by it. I can't tell if that's happening because of the slight infection or something else. My ear isn't red or swollen, and there isn't much pain, except for a little soreness when I touch the side of the lobe where that stopper originally came off.
Do you think this should be an issue, or am I overthinking it?
