It’s all highly subjective.
As for my own situation: I spent three months in a brace and another month in an orthotic. The swelling in my leg lingered for ages. Honestly, floating in the ocean all day was my saving grace; it's what finally brought the swelling down. I suffered an Achilles rupture and had the surgery at Mayo Clinic. I didn't even start home exercises until six months post-op. My advice? Start walking as soon as you possibly can—that's how you speed up the recovery.

After the first round, I was fine—could walk around, get through my workday, no biggie. But now? After dealing with that initial soreness and then jumping straight into the second treatment... man, I barely made it through the session itself. Right now, I can hardly even stand up. Has anyone else dealt with this? Look, I can handle a lot of things, I really can, but I’m dying to know if this level of misery is totally normal or if I should be worried about what comes next. To make matters worse, I’ve got another appointment scheduled for next week. Any advice? Thanks in advance, guys. Peace!
Hey. I'm dealing with a splinter in my heel too. Did the shockwave therapy actually help you? Did the pain subside? How are you feeling now? Did you go to a private clinic for the treatment? Cheers.
Here I am again. After three months in a compression sleeve, I’ve finally transitioned to an orthotic brace, which I’ve been wearing for four weeks now. My leg feels completely locked up. The incision hasn't fully closed yet, though they had me on Granuflex for three weeks. Lately, I've been using some topical ointments, and that seems to be helping. I’m currently waiting a month before I can start physical therapy; otherwise, there isn't much else on my treatment plan. What I really need to know is: how long does this ankle stiffness actually last? I’m walking full weight-bearing now, without crutches or the brace, but the swelling is relentless—it flares up the moment I start moving and subsides only once I apply compresses. I’m trying to watch my diet a bit too, but the inflammation is stubborn. I’m doing exercises at home constantly, but what else should I be doing? I don't even dare get on a bike, let alone drive a car, because of this lack of mobility. Plus, my knee starts aching whenever I walk for any extended period. It feels like this recovery is moving at a glacial pace. Any advice would be worth its weight in gold.
Hi everyone. I’m looking to connect with anyone who has dealt with an Achilles tendon rupture and gone through surgery. I need some real-world insight regarding the rehab and exercise routine. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.
